We are looking for a Account Executive, Sales to be located in Halifax Canada. This position generates revenue by developing market potential through prospecting, lead generation, qualifying opportunities, proposing solutions, forecasting and closing sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned customer and budget base; pursue and secure business in line with corporate/regional objectives.
  • Build relationship with current customers, resolve complaints & service issues to customer satisfaction and in line with organizational policies.
  • Strive for consultative sales to distinguish market presence by effectively probing / identifying needs and suggesting solutions to help customers.
  • Build a good understanding of target customers/assigned account base (contact, commodities/ trade lanes, type of business, contract information/exceptions, and service requirements). Provide personalized service and build relationships with customers, identify current and future customer requirements.
  • Establish internal network in North America and globally to facilitate resolution of customer issues.
  • Build understanding of all service offerings to be able to offer integrated solutions.
  • Communicate significant trends, rate changes and policies to assigned account(s).
  • Research and understand territory to identify and establish business contacts with potential customers
  • Respond to all sales leads/key correspondence within identified timelines; work on cold calls with telemarketing as required.
  • Research and analyze competitive and industry trends (e.g. analyze sales statistics, prepare reports, study literature regarding new and existing services, and monitor sales, prices and services of competitors); recommend appropriate measures
  • Develop customer value propositions for all appropriate business opportunities
  • Provide support for customer, vendor, and staff queries
  • Provide feedback to inland dispatch teams and management on improvement opportunities
  • Act as the eyes and ears of Maersk Line. Communicate market intelligence, competitor information, and any other industry information to the head Canadian office.
  • Ensure timely updates to applicable systems
  • Prepare and distribute required reports within timelines and as per guidelines.
  • Assist with presentations and customer meets / visits.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Perform other position related duties as specified by management
