Project Description & Location:
Coordinating Construction of Commercial + Residential units on North Barrie Crossing and Collier Centre Office + Condominium Towers , Barrie
Salary: $37 Hourly, for minimum 30 and up to 40.00 Hours per week
Anticipated Start Date: September 03, 2013

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists the Project Manager and Superintendent with all aspects of project performance including costs, schedule, quality and project status
  • Develops and maintains excellent relationships with trade contractors, consultants, sub trades designers and clients
  • Manages change order processes, including pricing, negotiating, processing and assessing cost and schedule impact prior to reviewing with the Project Manager
  • Administers the RFI and shop drawing process
  • Develops performance status reports for the Project Manager regarding cost forecast, schedule and safety
  • Update the project budget and cost reports during construction
  • Assists the Project Manager with issuing subcontracts and monitoring their progress
  • Assists the Project Manager with establishing project specific safety & environment programs and providing proactive leadership
  • Enforces contractual responsibilities with subcontractors
  • Plans all facets of project closeout, including archiving documents, maintenance/warranty manuals, deficiencies and warranty work
  • Other duties as required

Education, Skill Requirements and Experience

  • 4 year university diploma in civil engineering
  • A minimum of 2+ years construction experience as a project coordinator in construction management field
  • Experience in coordinating multiple commercial and high rise residential projects at same time under tight time frame‚Äôs
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment/techniques, drawings/specifications, building material and required standards applicable to discipline
  • Knowledge of construction contracts
  • Experience in estimating and quantity surveying
  • Understanding of project forecasting, scheduling and planning
  • Ability to work with construction change orders, notices, and revisions
  • Understanding of safe work practices
  • Experience with shop drawing review
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications ( Word, Excel, Outlook, Project )
  • Proficiency in Primavera Oracle Management and Timberline
  • Proficiency in ACAD

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation required (This is a project-based position which may involve occasional travelling).
Language skills: Speak English, Read English, Write English
