MacLaren McCann Calgary has an immediate need for an Assistant Digital Strategist for a 13-14 Month MATERNITY LEAVE CONTRACT. The role will commence in December 2013 and conclude in early 2015. This role reports directly to the VP, Media Director.

Who we’re looking for:

As an ASSISTANT DIGITAL STRATEGIST you are responsible in managing your client’s media plans, proposals and analyses. To prepare and present media plans, proposals and analyses, to negotiate and document Clients’ online media buys.

Your Accountability & Duties:

Prepare, write and present media plans, proposals and analyses
Ensure that all media plans meet client objectives with fully supported documentation, and that they adhere to the M2 Universal Media Plan Philosophy
Prepare and present evaluations of media opportunities, media trends and issues of interest to clients
Initiate and co-ordinate the media buying process
Evaluate and monitor media plan execution on an ongoing basis
Build and maintain client relationship
Ensure that all client invoices, discrepancies and billing is input, cleared and issued in a timely fashion
Prepare and present pre and post buy campaign reports
On-going administration of clients’ media product
Inform appropriate personnel of potential problems and opportunities
Working understanding of client business operations and marketing strategies and how these relate to media and communications

The Experience You Bring to the Team:

Preferred 2 years’ experience in Media Planning/Buying within an agency, with minimum 1 year Online media experience preferred
Demonstrate facility with online/interactive media
Strong organization and time-management skills
Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task
Independent thinker, problem solver
Knowledge of media research tools and computer software programs
Demonstrated ability to effectively apply knowledge and insights gained from research resources to media planning
History of developing positive on-going client relationships
Ability to build strong internal relationships and partnerships
Highly developed oral and written communication skills
Experience presenting to groups and clients
Post secondary education preferred
Be proficient with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Google Analytics, Omniture, comScore, AdWords and DoubleClick for Advertisers
