Live-In Superintendent required for large condominium high rise and recreation centre in Scarborough. Ideal candidate would have five years experience and strong mechanical background, prior experience with pool operation an asset. Single position, partner not required. Salary and one bedroom apartment included.
Resident Relations: We are a service business and we are required to maintain a polite business like relationship with our residents. Argumentative or confrontational communication is not acceptable. Fraternizing with residents is not considered to be professional or business like and Superintendents should never discuss a resident's personal affairs with any other resident. The more professional and business like your relationships with residents are, the easier your job will be. Maintaining a professional and business like relationship with your residents is of major importance.
WHMIS PIPEDA and Other Legislation: Superintendents are expected to have a working knowledge of WHMIS, PIPEDA & Human Rights legislation and make proper use of protective equipment and information supplied to the property and a basic understand of the new federal Privacy Act regarding the releasing and protection of residents personal information. A working knowledge of other and new governmental legislation will be required as it becomes effective.
Building Plumbing, Heating and Mechanical Systems: Superintendents are expected to have a basic working knowledge of the building's systems and undertake routine checks, adjustments, lubrication and filter cleaning as required.
Inspections and Maintenance of Fire Safety Log: It is the Superintendent's responsibility to be familiar with the fire safety plan for the building, maintain the weekly and monthly checks and tests and the proper completion of the fire safety log for the building as per the Fire Safety Code.
