MINING.com, a leading news and blog site covering the resource sector, is looking for a full-time assistant editor.
Duties are the following:
Researching and writing articles
Identifying, formatting and resizing appropriate graphics
Securing usage rights
Soliciting news and blog submissions
Developing marketing strategies
Contributing to MINING.com’s social media presence
The following skills and abilities are required:
Journalism and editing experience
Interest in business and resource writing
The ability to work weekends and after hours
Nice-to-haves are good software skills and familiarity with WordPress. The candidate will also understand and use social media. Lastly, the candidate will understand SEO and know how to analyze data from Google Analytics.
Candidate must be able to work in MINING.com’s head office located in Vancouver, British Columbia.
