Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inside sales efforts, reaching out to customers by phone on a weekly basis regarding standing orders, special deals and holiday requirements
  • Identify and implement opportunities to expand existing customer orders
  • Conduct periodic onsite customer visits
  • Regularly scan and assess floral industry to identify new customers
  • Create opportunities to develop relationships with prospective customers
  • Successfully sign up new customers to MexYCan
  • Ensure the successful resolution of any issues that will impact a customer’s order
  • Incorporate customer feedback into MexYCan process improvement where appropriate
  • Incorporate customer feedback into enhancements to the Floral Assurance Program where appropriate
  • Ensure an active and ongoing MexYCan presence is created with existing and prospective customers
  • Develop and follow through on sales plans for designated customer base
  • Provide input into overall MexYCan sales plans
  • Support the full end to end activities that are required to ensure customers’ needs are met following the sale to the on-time delivery of the product
  • Resolve outstanding accounts receivable issues with existing customers
  • Support operational needs as required in order to ensure on time delivery, particularly during peak holiday seasons

Position Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of sales experience
  • Knowledge of sales approaches and methods to monitor, build and create customer relationships
  • High energy, action oriented results driven individual; enjoys working hard and sees challenges as opportunities
  • Demonstrates expert customer focus; dedicates oneself to meeting the requirements of customers and acts with the customer in mind; is able to gain the trust and respect of customers
  • Interpersonal savvy; able to build rapport, relate well to others and diffuse difficult situations
  • Demonstrated business acumen; able to understand competitors, trends, strategies and tactics of the marketplace
  • Effective manager of time, using time efficiently and concentrating efforts on priorities
  • Builds effective peer relationships; seen as a cooperative team player and able to solve problems with peers collaboratively
  • Reliable problem solver; is able to resolve challenges with effective solutions
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook
  • A minimum of a college diploma is required
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset
  • Valid driver’s licence
