Our Client is an informatics consulting and software development company headquartered in Vancouver, with growing branches in Canada in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and the Atlantic regions.
Reporting to the Alberta Branch Manager, this position requires an individual who is able to collect business requirements from multiple sources, and then critically evaluate information gathered, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying business needs. This individual interprets business needs and translates them into application and operational requirements; collaborates with developers and subject matter experts to establish the vision and analyzes tradeoffs between usability and performance needs. They are the liaison between the business community, the technical solution providers and the support team.
The skills and experience required include:
Post-secondary education in Health Informatics, Information Management or Information Technology (or equivalent) with seven or more years of business analysis experience with exposure to the healthcare industry. CPHIMS.CA certification preferred.
Expertise in eliciting requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.
Exhibit strong analytical and management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret stakeholder business needs and translate them into system and operational requirements.
Experience in developing future state process flows to reflect business process re-engineering activities.
Proven expertise in developing requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
A proactive communicator with experience in collaborating with external and internal stakeholders to analyze information needs and functional requirements and to deliver artifacts as needed.
Capability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Ability to work independently under the direction of project managers.
Experienced in reporting activity status to a management level.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact professionally with diverse groups of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
The ability to effectively deal with remote teams and users.
Ability to travel. (not often)
