We are currently looking to hire a Plant Manager for our client location in Prince George.


Oversee all plant operations including production and capacity planning, facility maintenance, ensure quality standards are met, evaluate performance and identify training needs and administer company safety policy. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations, Western MA, Drainage Solutions.

Details of Position

Leadership responsibilities for the safe operation of the plant

Plant P&L responsibility, ensuring business objectives in relation to budget for all operational expenditures are met

Foster a team building and collaborative work environment for all employees

Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing and maintenance operations which ensure the most effective return on assets

Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital

Assure attainment of business objectives and production schedules while ensuring product standards that will exceed our customers' expectations

Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, depending on need

Improve manpower utilization within existing departments and processes

Schedule stability that allows for maximum return on efficiencies

Work to establish management practices throughout assigned areas which include all employees' positive involvement with opportunity for constructive input and action

Responsible for coaching and mentoring of all staff

Manage & provide leadership for continuous improvement initiatives focus on both costs and driving customer satisfaction

Drive Customer Satisfaction by interfacing with customers in order to resolve any quality or delivery issues required

Ensure all equipment and machines are working effectively and address repairs and replacements as needed

Participate in daily Production and Quality/Process review meetings and ensure that departments are following schedules and implement corrective action to prevent schedule deviations in order to meet prescribed deadlines

Review costs, review and act on daily, weekly and monthly reports

Responsible for all inventories and purchases/material releases within facility

Leadership responsibilities will include providing a clear, supportive vision that is aligned with the corporate mission statement


  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent
  • 5 to 10 years progressive plant management experience
  • Ability to direct and motivate others
  • Strong computer skills -- Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and SAP
  • Innovative thinker -- finding new processes and ways to improve plant productivity
