The Opportunity:

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Director Business Development that enjoys building long term business relationships and developing new business opportunities. You will report to the Senior Vice President Marketing and Strategic Alliances located in Montréal Canada. You will be responsible for sourcing and developing new partnerships in all sectors that have strong loyalty programs. You will have responsibility for negotiating and closing deals with the goal of executing formal partnership agreements in a timely manner with attractive revenue and margin potential. You are motivated and comfortable working with a lean entrepreneurial Canadian organization that enables you to have significant influence on the success of the business. You are confident, approachable and a top sales performer in your current role. You must possess a unique blend of business savvy, superior relationship building skills and a genuine passion for the loyalty industry and retail customer loyalty programs.

Responsibilities:

Research, analyze and understand industry trends to develop and implement sales strategies and plans in key verticals.

Identify and establish key loyalty program partnership opportunities based on previous experience and understanding of players in sectors that use loyalty programs.

Manage pre-sales activities for discovery and prospecting stages such as competitive reviews, loyalty sourcing evaluation, preparation of sales tools (collateral, sales decks, product demos etc.).

Sales sourcing, including both warm and cold outreach to engage business interest and opportunities to add value to partners' goals.

Set and conduct sales presentations (in person, phone, webinars) at the entry and executive level.
Implement tactics to progress discussions, negotiate/close deals and execute contracts.

Ensure partnership deals are material to achieve and surpass revenue/margin targets.

Detailed pipeline management, preparation of regular status reports and monthly reviews.

Work with internal teams to implement new partners and act as an advocate for the new partner.

Maintain and foster industry business relationships and represent Loyalty Source at various events and tradeshows.

Identify new opportunities and complimentary business models for our business to capitalize on.

Qualifications:

5 -7 years proven business development success, with minimum of 3 years at senior level.

Excellent negotiation skills with ability to explain value proposition of Loyalty Source products and services.

Loyalty/reward program experience in loyalty program sourcing or management industries.

Self starter, who is assertive, persistent and resilient, goal oriented and focused on their performance to close on win/win contracts.

Strategic thinker, highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, both independently and as a team player.

Relationship builder with an established network of business contacts.

Interest and ability to sell loyalty services and products.

Experienced in sales management and best practices.

Advanced interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills in English and functional French – for both external and internal audiences.

Excellent presentation and business case skills with high degree of PC application proficiency (i.e. PPT & Excel).

Bachelor's Degree at a minimum.

Compensation:

This is a continuing full-time position, with an annual salary up to 60 000.00$ (proportionate with experience) plus a commission structure increasing salary up to 25%.
