Personally worked in the bakery department and it was alot of work. Some co-workers that held full time positions who think they are better than you and force you to do their chores (especially when new). Overall though great staff other than a hand few and fun to work with. When buying at longos there really is no employee discount with your longos card, it is just an accumulation of points that you can get some cash back at the end of the year but the points they give are little to nothing unless you are a frequent shopper

your coworkers are the best part of the job, Longo's says to treat your coworkers and customers like family, and that's how it feels, however, the managers do not really care about your life outside of work and if something urgent pops up, they are not willing to compromise with your outside life if you are scheduled
Terrible atmosphere . Bad HR department. Upper management are very unfair and cruel to team members and managers.

This job does not allow for much advancement, which is quite a shame considering how much fun it could be at times. This job had the right sense of family but unfortunately lacked in the area of providing this family with further support in the workforce.

A typical day at work gets pretty busy depending on the time but you are constantly talking to customers and helping everyone that you can out. I learned how to approach people better and how to work with money. The management was great, like I said everyone is friendly so its a great place to work! The culture is very friendly, everyone is always willing to help you. The hardest part of the job is when there are very many customers on holidays and everyone is running around trying to help other customers. The most enjoyable part of the job is the people that you work with. You can make friends for life at this company!

A family owned company that used to pride themselves on fresh product and great customer service. Now the company only cares about making the most amount of money, and removing shrink from their stores... even if this includes changing the dates on packaged food items and using/selling items past their due date. Managers and HR scare employees into thinking the way they want them to.. and will put you in terrible situations to make you quit instead of firing you. Honestly just a s*** show. If you want to keep your sanity, and stick to basic morals - stay away from Longo's before you become disgusted with their practices.
