Job Description

At Lightfire we develop innovative web applications and we are looking to expand our team with an individual who is passionate about using new technologies, and building quality code.

This position will require you to develop complex web applications from scratch and sometimes update existing platforms; this can include everything from front-end AJAX implementations, to back-end controller/model logic and database design. We do our best to assign projects to developers based on their interests: i.e. a front-end heavy project will be given to a developer who likes working with jQuery, or an iPhone app will be given to a developer who wants to learn iOS development.

A typical project environment includes C# MVC, jQuery and SQL Server. In some cases we use Orchard, LESS, Twitter Bootstrap, jQuery UI (+mobile) and a number of other technologies - we are always open to change and look to find the right tool for each job.

What you'll get:

Individually tailored compensation packages that are comprised of salary, bonus and potentially equity - We are all in this together
Free drinks / snacks / late dinners - Because you should never be hungry!
Flexible hours - We work around your schedule
Free research credits - you buy a technology book? We pay for it!
Equipment - The latest equipment and tools: Apple or MS - up to you

Skills & Requirements

A very high degree of intellectual curiosity. We're inventing as we go along. We need people who constantly think about changing the world to be a better place and have the ambition to do it.
2+ years of OO software development
A university degree in something technical is preferred but your experience also speaks to what you didn't learn in a classroom. You'll be working with great minds, they'll expect the same from you.

Key Traits

Self-motivated, problem solver and goal driven
a doer, not a talker
A team collaborator and contributor

UX / Design abilities
Systems management (we work in MS environments mostly)
Mobile experience (iOS/Android/Blackberry)
Entrepreneurial mindset
Non-MS experience such as Ruby on Rails, PHP, and/or platforms like Joomla / Drupal etc.
