Lifetime Networks is a not for profit organization that offers a variety of individualized supports to people with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.
We are looking for a Counselor/Coach to develop and implement all aspects of the Employment Program including identifying barriers to employment , assisting clients to develop job readiness skills through the delivery of job related workshops, providing employment counseling, and guiding people through discovery, job search and job placement. We are looking for a dynamic individual to connect with potential employers, explore job opportunities within our community and coordinate on the job support.
I have experience facilitating groups of ‘harder to employ’ people facing multiple barriers to employment and I have a solid knowledge of the Canadian labour market, Canadian workplace practices, job search strategies and techniques. I have a passion for diversity and believe that all people can work. I have post-secondary education related to support for people with disabilities or employment counseling or related experience. I am a connector and relate well to a diverse range of people
What We Will Ask of You
Develop 24 employment related workshops, topics provided
Deliver these workshops over a 2.5 hour period each week for three/four months
Partner with the local EBC office to jointly support our clients
Support each client through a personalized discovery process
Facilitate a weekly session for people to drop in and access employment counseling job search, computers etc.
Provide individual employment counseling to each client each week
Develop connections with potential employers within our community
Attend employment related meetings and events
Contribute to the Management Team and represent Lifetime Networks in the employment community
Support and mentor the Employment Assistant during job coaching and other related duties
