An upbeat place to work with great members and even greater employees
OPERATIONS TEAM MEMBER (Former Employee), Troy, MI – October 29, 2012
Pros: free membership to the fitness center
Cons: short breaks
I loved coming to work and being able to interact with all the members. Every day, I had the opportunity to meet new members, help guide new employees with what they have to do. I have gotten a deeper understanding about customer service and being able to fully help a member with every need. The Operations department is a very important department in – more... Lifetime Fitness. We kept the gym clean, the locker rooms clean, we washed and folded towels for the members to use, and we assisted any member with questions, comments, and concerns. My fellow team members were amazing to work with, because they were more than willing to help out with any needs that I or any other team member had. It really taught me how to be apart of a team as well as working individually towards a goal. The hardest part of the job would have to be the overnight hours; due to being short-staffed for a couple weeks, I had volunteered to help out with the overnight hours. It dealt with a lot of thorough cleaning. The hard part was staying up all night. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to help the members out. I love to make sure that every person that walked into Lifetime Fitness could walk out feeling healthy as well as appreciated. – less

Facility Operations (Current Employee), Warrenville, IL – October 28, 2012
It's a great team environment that teaches one growth on all levels through the hurried daily pace in a place where the foot traffic is incredibly high.

Broken Promises
Overnight Facilities Operation Supervisor (Former Employee), Troy, MI – October 24, 2012
Pros: pretty women
Cons: short breaks
My time at life time would have been mch better if I wasn't promised so many things coming in. Having a degree and playing sports in college the Department Head was telling all theses things and had me believing I would be his Asst Department Head coming in. Nothing he told me was true and it took away from working with a great company.

Overall great place to work
Swim Instructor (Current Employee), Algonquin, IL – October 24, 2012
Pros: friendly environment
Cons: few hours
I have taught swimming lessons for nine years and at LTF, my experience is appreciated and recognized. I learned how to be a team player as well as developing my verbal communication skills. I love teaching and working with people so I have enjoyed working at LTF.

Personal Trainer (Current Employee), Maple Grove, MN – October 23, 2012
Pros: busy atmosphere
My typical day at work is very busy. I typically go from client to client and try to design new programs in my free time. Catching up on emails and paper work is what I do in any open time I have.

LOTS of turnover
Director (Former Employee), Chanhassen – October 23, 2012
Pros: free club membership
Cons: everything else.
Was there over five years and it had over 100% turnover in my department. Don't get too close to your co-workers because the chance they'll still be there in a year not good. I saw the CEO brow beat everyone from the VPs to the receptionist. Driver drivers survive for awhile there but if you want a work/life balance or you have a family, stay away. – more... You won't be happy. It is also a dictatorship and all decisions are made by one man at the top. – less

poor management
Team Member and Camp Counselor (Current Employee), Rochester, MI – October 18, 2012
Pros: free membership
Cons: short breaks (if you get a break), poor management
Management and supervisors are poor. Pay is minimum wage, and some employees do all of the work while others stand around and just talk to each other. Cliques are bad also. If you don't mind doing all of the work, while getting no credit this place isn't too bad to work at. Most of the time you don't get a break, and when you do, you only get 10 minutes.

Kids Activities Supervisor (Current Employee), Warrenville, IL – October 17, 2012
Hard working, clean, and safe environment.
Been working there for over a year. Have been loving the experience. My co-workers are all so friendly. It's a great atmosphere to be in. Hardest part of the job would be making sure our budget is correct. The most enjoyable part would be getting to meet new people everyday and making their experience at the – more... club the best. – less

SummerForecast – November 5, 2012

Hi, I am applying for a Kids Activity Supervisor Position for Lifetime Fitness in Tennessee, and I am curious about how well you like your job and what your job is like day to day. The description for the job is very vague. Also I never know what an appropriate salary is to ask for, so if you don't mind telling me, what salary do you make as a Kids Activity Supervisor for Lifetime Fitness?

Assistant Department Head of Member Services (Former Employee), Allen, TX – October 16, 2012
Pros: work environment, coworkers, fitness
Cons: pay, management, hours
Management is AWFUL! Luckily my final manager was great and made the experience much better, but my first manager broke tons of rules and was never punished and although moving up in the company was relatively easy the pay was poor and they expected 60 hour work weeks on low pay.

Member Engagement Advisor (Former Employee), Schaumburg, IL – October 15, 2012
Pros: sometimes got free lunches, free membership at life time
Cons: long hours, 100% commission
Time flies being a Member Engagement Advisor while you are there. High quota makes it often difficult to meet if you plan on having a life. Not a job I would recommend for someone who has a family. Management was good, they are there for you when you need them, and are very clear on what is expected. Hardest part of the job is that it is 100% commission – more... and long long hours. Most enjoyable part of the job is that while you are there working it is a fun place to be. – less

Busy, busy, busy. I learned how to become a manager. I trained various workers and more. Management was tollerable. Co-workers were young and fun. Pros: training, strong team
Depending on where you work, you can work with people of all ages. We pay very close attention to detail here and the management is good. You can expect to be somewhat connected with most of the members in the gym. The team does a great job at getting along with each other and making the experience better.

Great Fitness Center with Very friendly co-workers
Senior Statistician (Current Employee), MI – September 17, 2012
Pros: great staff, free membership, and enjoyable.
Cons: low hours
There I help with the Ultimate Hoops Basketball League. My job duties were to take live statistics on the games, clean up, and answer any questions about the league if I knew the answers to. There I work with some great people who over-time became my best of friends and we treat each other like family. If there is a day we cannot come in, the league – more... manager is very understanding given the right circumstances. If you were to ask what is the best part of working there is? Then the answer would be the friendly staff who I can work with as a team with great chemistry from day one. – less
