typical day at levy is a fast paced job with many oppourtunities to come your way such as the keys to success. bei8ng a stand leand and being flexible in other areas can be rewardeing.i have good coworkers that helps me out when need be the hardest part is trying to deal with the rudely customers but it does help strength your customer service skills

Stock suites with food and snacks for games as well as preparing the meals. Cleaning work areas. I learned the meaning of teamwork and hard labor of preparing for pre games under pressure. My co workers were very live and entertaining as well as a bit much and unprofessional at times but I didn't let that affect my work ethics. There Was not anything – more... hard about the job, but the most enjoyable part of the job was being apart of their career team. I just wish it wasn't a seasonal job and provided more work hours per week. – less

I helped prepare the desserts and alcohol beverages, so they can be put on the dessert carts, I greeted the guest, served the guest alcohol beverages and desserts. I maintained a clean area, and always received a signature from the host.

One will come into the venue beginning there shift by preparing there concession stand for that days event. Start by doing the inventory of the chargeable and non-chareable product to see what is necessary to order for the event. Next is to call the order then to proceed to prepare the stand for the NFP's (non-profits). As each arrive you explain the – more... procedure to that particular stand. For each one of is not necessarily in the same stand each time as to the same for the NFP's. After all is set and the stand is ready to go the fun begins! We have a staff meeting where the stand manager (myself) goes over all procedures and trains anyone new. we then learn each others names and go over unanswered questions. Now we are ready for the doors to open! I ( the manager ) assist through out the event with all questions ranging to; "wheres the cheese; how do call for a wet spill; someone fell what do I do; security wants a popcorn bucket what do I do; he's intoxicated I don't want to serve him can you help me;" and so on. As the night nears the alcohol time we have to get the patrons served as quickly as possible while watching for signs if of inebriation. I would have to say that this is one of the most challenging parts of the position. Especially due to multiple distractions at once such as questions while discontinuing to serve a particular patron that may be past their limit. All in all I find it quite enjoyable to bring satisfaction to those around me. especially when something seems just out of reach and I have given them that relief we all know so well with a side of have a nice day. – less

I would take inventory of bar, clean and set up bar. Greet customers as they approach or past my bar. I learned alot of things while bartending, I think the 2 main things is askin for identification becoming 2nd nature, and being able to recognize when someone is intoxicated or impaired. The management was good and dependable. I worked with people that – more... shared the same passion I have for being a service to the public. After being in this field for awhile, I think the biggest challenge is dealing with a patron that is intoxicated to the point that they're not in their normal state of mind. On the flip side of that, it's refreshing when you're in a environment of alot of people, who are laughing.....having fun....and they come to you and say that they appreciate your service and they felt at home!!! – less

This is a great company if your young, no children and want no life. In management you work constantly and when you have time to catch your breath, they're sending you out of town to work. My day would start at 10am and end anywhere from midnight till 2am depending on event. Overall Levy is a nice company to work for. You can go to just about any state and find a job within the company. They don't offer benefits well at least I don't recieve them. I worked in the retail store located in the United Center. I feel as if i'm a teenager in high school more so me going to work everyday. The treatment and lack of respect the – more... employees recieve from management is sub par and unnaceptable. Being that its a sports arena you would think it's a fun atmosphere. Totally not the case. My boss went so far one day as to say to us "the employees" that she didn't want to hear us laughing. My mind is exhausted from working at this place. When I started I looked forward to going to work whenever I was scheduled now I OVERLY HATE going to work. I only stay for the fans and the genuine pleasure I get out of making others experiences memorable for them. If you're a real person with 'real' bills this is not the job for you seeing is how you will only be scheduled on game days. If there is extra work offered it's supposed to go according to senority, Well that's not the case either. It goes according to favoritism. I wonder do the CEO's ever visit that place. They should really plant a mole in that store to see excatly what i'm talking about when I say how poorly the store is being mismanaged. Oh yea they provide you this really drab employee lunch which I find shamefully amusing seeing is how Levy provides itself on being one of the top performers in food service. :) Way to go Levy Restaurants mission accomplished. Feel free to apply people because I myself and a host of other people have either quit or soon planning to... Depending on the event, servers will help prepare for the event, setting tables, chef tables, ect. Then we serve our customers and completely clean up the facility. All employers eat dinner together during a work shift and will leave the building together at the end of the night. We are a little family at Levy and I know I could count on my managers – more... if I really ever needed anything, inside the work place or out. It would be impossible to work for this company and walk away without gaining beneficial knowledge. – less
