This company's menu of operations feeds people out on the town and at the game. Levy Restaurants is a leading restaurant operator and contract foodservices provider. Its fine dining spots, found mostly in Chicago, include Fulton's on the River and Spiaggia. Most of the company's business, though, comes from running foodservice operations at more than 75 sports stadiums, convention centers, and race tracks, including Churchill Downs (Louisville, Kentucky), Lambeau Field (Green Bay, Wisconsin), and Wrigley Field (Chicago). Levy Restaurants also runs dining locations at Walt Disney's Disney World resort and theme park in Orlando. The company is a subsidiary of UK-based Compass Group.
Levy Restaurants' growing sports and entertainment operations have become an important pillar of strength for Compass' North American foodservices operations. In 2011 the company closed the venerable Bistro 110 and opened the more casual Italian eatery Bar Toma in Chicago's River North neighborhood.
A world leader in the foodservices industry, Compass acquired the 51% of Levy Restaurants it didn't already own in 2006 for about $250 million. It had made its initial investment in the business in 2000. Chairman Larry Levy started the company in 1978 with his brother, Mark. – less
