Lakeland College invites applications for a Dairy Unit Coordinator to ensure that the dairy operates efficiently and effectively. This position works with the farm team and provides support to the Animal Science Diploma program which includes a dairy specialization and the Dairy Student Managed Farm. The position works closely with the farm manager, faculty and students in meeting the Dairy Student Managed Farm learning objectives.
Duties also include management and operations of a dairy such as milking procedures, cow/calf nutrition and feeding, facility maintenance, quota mangement, herd health and reproduction and other farm related duties.
The preferred candidate will have a two-year post-secondary agriculture related education and five years of experience working in a dairy. Computer experience is also required. The ability to perform artificial insemination will be considered an asset.
This is a Full-time Permanent AUPE appointment (40 hours per week) at the Vermilion campus, commencing October 1, 2013. The current salary range is $47,954 - $60,432 per annum and includes a generous benefit package and pension plan.
