Position Summary:

The Lafarge Order Representative is an excellent team player and is the front line for customer service. They work with customers over the phone to negotiate delivery commitments and follow up to ensure fulfillment. They work well under pressure and in a fast paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude. A successful candidate develops customer relationships to personalize our interactions and build trust in our services. They utilize their strong organization and communication skills to coordinate customers, dispatch and the sales team. The Order Representative joins an evolving department and the ideal candidate is comfortable with change and technology and will bring new ideas to the department.


Completes all job functions safely and supports the Safe Trucking Program
Coordinates site safety concerns with the jobsite and internal support staff

Order Taking
Answer phones in a professional and courteous manner
Use lookup tools to recall historical delivery information
Annotate orders with accurate and specific directions to jobsite
Annotate orders with job site activity details that influence delivery
Enter all order details into our Enterprise Planning System (ERP)
Negotiate delivery time commitments in coordination with dispatch

Follow-Up, Follow-Through
Follow up with all stakeholders whenever there is a change to a delivery commitment
Monitor order commitments to ensure they will be fulfilled

Support Dispatch When Order Desk is Slow
Call trucks to book them for the following day
Schedule truck deliveries
Administration and filling

Relationships with Others Jobs: The order desk representative works closely with other dispatchers, Weigh Masters, Transportation Coordinator, Inside Sales Reps, Territory Managers, Dispatch Manager and Customer Service & Logistics Manager.

Qualification Profile:

Education and Work Experience

Strong English language skills; fluent in multiple languages an asset
Professional telephone etiquette
Schedule availability between 5.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday and occasionally on Saturdays

4.0 million tonnes delivered across GTA

Peak truck capacity: 200 trucks/day
