I work for this company for 6 weeks. I really like this company. The company's culture are really good.

1. Every day is a challenge with a hope of new assignments and interaction with people.
2. The day ends with good learing which includes technical updation, learning new skill sets etc.

Job security and advancement opportunities are great. Working here is really an investment in your career as you will not be paid a competitive salary, and the work life balance is tough. Overall great people to work with here.

Throughout various client projects I was able to learn many different skills both technical and softer inter-personal business skills. Initially my experience was fast-paced; I was immediately scheduled on a project and, attending meetings with various clients within weeks, and producing substantial deliverables on my own.

On-the-whole the typical – more... work week was traveling to the client-site on Mondays and leave on Thursdays, staying at local hotels durring the week. Hours tend to be around 50+ hour weeks. On Fridays, you are implicitly expected to go into your local office to take care of some administrative work and network.

I had been moving from project to project every 6 or 8 months. However, I've found myself on a very long term engagement and have started to feel stagnant in my role. I've struggled to transition away from this project.

As my first job out of college, I expected some substantial guidance and training. I felt a rather consistent lack of support in this regard. I often felt like the development path picked for me was not fully considered.

In spite of some of the frustrations depicted here,I have no regrets about joining the firm. My co-workers have been typically great to work with and approachable. If you are prepared to travel and firmly drive your own career path (and experienced doing so), there can be great opportunity for you here. Be prepared to deal with some internal inefficiencies and bureaucracy. – less

Company is very interested in balancing the work and family.

If you're someone in your early 20's starting off and have no commitments that prevent you from working 70 hours a week them its for you. However, if you are more senior in experience then look forward to sacrificing your personal life. They have no concern for employees that are not robots. They know they can gain 100 + resumes for an open position. – more... Not a good place to work. I gained experience in half year audit, working with the teams at client sites.

This is a job for someone who wants to become a real professional and who doesn't have personal life, because with the travel and work hours there's no time for family and friends. But it will give you a lot of room for personal and professional development.

People at KPMG are generally professional, hard-working and trying to do the right thing. Although like in any large organization it has its fair share of politics, very few screamers or total jerks.

Depends on your manager of course, but generally they do try to provide a work/life balance and there are plenty of great benefits available.

One area – more... they are not so great at is HR and layoffs in particular. Have heard some awful things about they way things were handled.

Overall there are some real quality people there to work with and learn from, but like any other place has some flaws. – less

Good place to learn. The organization is interested in moving people along the important milestones. Compensation is comparable to other firms. Best thing about the job is the hard working and energetic peers. Cons are too much work, but its expected.

I was recently invited twice by KPMG for seven technical interviews in Albany NY. The employees acted as they were Gods and the people there need to bow them and praise KPMG.

I was told by one of the managers that why should they hire me when they have so many peoplecandidates dying to work for KPMG. It sounded very insulting to me to convince them – more... to hire me like I was begging to work for them.

I was told by one of the Directors that the Partner who interviewed me had no knowledge of what goes on in the firm. This was a little weird to hear that.

I was very confident in replying back all the techinical questions and after excellent interview I was not contacted. I emailed the recruiter and he didn't even bother to get back to me and say No. Such a shameless company who act to be professional and don't even let u know the result. – less

While I enjoyed the pay, vacation time, and challenging work; co-workers and management were clicky (like high school). New people are treated like untrusting nobodys. Until you prove yourself, you will not have work. When you don't have work, you get in trouble with management.

KPMG is constantly "re-organizing" and laying off employees. They are slowly getting rid of their older workers. Last lay off they had in October 2012, they let go of several pregnant women, a women who was undergoing cancer treatment in Charlotte and mostly employees that had been with the company 10 or more years.
