Too many hats!
Payroll Manager / Executive Assistant, Brampton, ON - January 5, 2015
Parts of this job I really liked, but the job scope that I was hired for became like a weed, and never stopped growing. I was hired for Payroll and some reception, then I was a liaison between major clients, then ended up adding on work orders, then I was an Executive Assistant, never changing positions, these positions just kept getting added on. And my salary never changed. I was a family business, The parents owned and ran the business and the sons worked there. Some days I was doing payroll, other days I was out renewing their passports, or dealing with Insurance Agents trying to develop a group insurance package for the company. And for whatever I was not doing at that time because I was up to my neck in something else, I would get pulled into a meeting about it. I decided to make a career change and get more into CS as I had people skills, and payroll experience. Great change. The family is really nice and we are still in touch.
