Terrible
assistant (Current Employee), Lyndhurst,Ohio – April 10, 2013
Pros: it's a job
Cons: always short of staff, no raises, poor management
I been at this facility for 12 years and kindred occupied it for the past 8 years . Since kindred took over its the worst it's ever been . Constantly working short of staff. They cut hours , raises froze for 3 years or more.

nice place to work & good nursing experience with challenging patients
RN on the Medical Telemetry (Current Employee), westminster,ca – April 8, 2013
Pros: upbeat and skilled co workers.
Cons: salary not compatible with job market
Typical day involves getting verbal report from the night shift nurse, pt. assessment, checking labs, report abnormal labs to MD and carrying out new orders by the MD,med adminstration P.O/IV;follow up on daily nursing actions including vital signs,pain assessment,turning q2h bedbound pt.'s with the help of CNA's etc;
Also, documention is essential part – more... of nursing along with managing pt.'s overall health & safety;prioritizing is the key element in solving daily problems and one has to be flexible and positive minded;my colleagues are very cooperative and we have a good working relationship; most of the time co workers will help you especially when you need a little bit of help when you get superbusy or when you need advice on some complex problems ; overall nursing on the floor is a busy and hard profession given all the complexities that come with it but you can make it enjoyable at the same time by bringing smiles on your pt. and their families faces and keeping your sense of humor and positive mindedness intact. . – less

A great place to connect in the lives of others and to make a difference
Activity Assistant/ Chaplain (Current Employee), Greenfield, IN – April 8, 2013
Pros: lunch!
Cons: free coffee!
A great place to connect with others in their time of good and bad. An overall great group of people who are always ready to help and encourage you. The hardest part of this job is the hospice part and that is keeping people comfortable until they pass away.

Pleasant place to work
Registered Respiratory Therapist (Current Employee), Ocala, FL – April 7, 2013
Pros: great team work
I have a super fantastic supervisor who appreciates everything our team does. She is supportive, fair, and easy to work with. We work well as a team.
The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing patient's successfully weaned off the ventilator and advance to decanulation, and returning home with their families.

kindred is a joke
RN (Former Employee), Sycamore,Illinois – March 24, 2013
Pros: the care provided by the compassionate cna.
Cons: everything
They are far from compassionate. There definitely favoritism between administration to patients And employees. They currently put a pay freeze on employees because they spend 1/2 million last year on alcohol for their social meetings. The CNA will take all responsibility because of a nurse's mistake of any other co-worker if they are favored or had – more... a higher education. Last but definitely not close to least don't bother ever being sick or taking a doctors note or getting " sent home" sick its an automatic write up. The administration Is out for them self's and does not care who sick nor the patients as stated on their so called " statement" you get when admitted that they will be in to check and see how everything is going don't bother they never walk onto the floor unless it's to yell or write up an employee with out getting any evidence to their allegations. My opinion I would not send my family there first hand experience. Not because of the CNA their great because of the administration. – less

The only reliable thing at Kindred is layoffs.
Administrator (Current Employee), Kentucky – March 17, 2013
Pros: what pros?
Cons: unstable, unreliable employer. the only predictable thing is the layoffs.
If you are looking for stable employment, RUN, don't walk, away from Kindred. At Kindred, every Friday you'll wonder who's getting the dreaded call. At Kindred, you'll start every Monday walking through the office to see which desks are empty. At Kindred, on any random day staff will be told to take a week or two off without pay to save the company – more... money. At Kindred, you are told to use your personal cell (the one YOU pay for) for company business so the company won't have to pay their own phone bill. Your personal cell -- the one you share with your kids so they can call you in emergencies -- will now have HIPPA protected personal health information and you won't be allowed to let your family members touch it. At Kindred, if you travel for the company, your per diem won't even cover the cost of eating at McDonald's. At Kindred, layoffs, staff reductions and fear of the Friday call are a way of life. – less

A good work envorment
Certified Nursing Assistant (Former Employee), Louisville, KY – March 13, 2013
A typical day at work for me was staying on top of my duties, making sure my patients clean and bathed. I learned that a positive attitude is very important I had to put a time on some of my task like making beds and the hardest part of my job was not taking their problems home with me. The most enjoyable part of my job was that nobody died that day.
