Lunch Assistant/Material Preparation Aide – Autism Services
0.6 FTE
January 6, 2014 to March 28, 2014

KidsAbility is currently seeking an individual to assist with lunch hour therapy activities and materials preparation to support the Cambridge Autism Services team. This position prepares and creates materials to support programs for children with Autism. Ordering, managing and organizing resources, toys, equipment and supplies are other services this position provides. The purpose of the Lunch Assistant aspect is to assist clients during indoor and outdoor lunch break activities in an effective and timely manner to promote a safe, secure and caring environment.


 Secondary school diploma with a background in early childhood education or child related studies preferred
 Experience in working with children with special needs; knowledge of autism an asset
 Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
 Excellent computer skills and the familiarity with or willingness to learn specialized computer programs used in the production of resource materials (eg. Boardmaker)
 Good time management and organizational skills, flexibility and initiative
 The ability to lift small pieces of equipment
 The use of an automobile with public liability and property damage is required
 Certification in First Aid and CPR an asset
