Facility Maintenance Technician Kicking Horse Mountain Resort -

Role Summary
The Facility Maintenance Technician will be responsible for repairing the wear and tear of the buildings and restaurants operated by the Resort as well as assisting with planning and executing of capital improvement projects. Reporting to the Maintenance Operations Manager, this role will perform small electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting repairs as needed, as well as provide assistance if required to the Millwrights, Electrician and the Mechanic.
Accountabilities
General repairs including furniture; doors and door closures with accessories; carpentry duties; painting and touch-ups
Plumbing responsibilities including repairs of toilets, urinals and sinks as well as hands-free activated plumbing
Perform and assist with repairs and maintenance in the kitchens and on heating equipment
Complete repairs to the emergency lights and battery packs
Maintain records of work completed and report on all shop related activities
Initiate, manage and delegate daily work assignments with minimal supervision
Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
5 years experience as a general laborer with hands on experience with skilled trades
Resort industry experience an asset
Apprentice or Journeyman Carpentry ticket an asset
Current valid driver’s license
Ability to access all locations on mountain by skiing or snowboarding
