Keyano College is currently seeking a Buyer/Contract Administrator in our Finance Department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing immediately. This position is responsible for facilitating full cycle competitive bid process including but not limited to requirement analysis, RFx drafting and posting, evaluation, award, and assisting the procurement manager in contract drafting. The buyer/contract administrator will also assist the Manager, Procurement and Contracts to procure a wide range of capital equipment, supplies and services as required by the College. This position deals directly with the College Departments in the development of the original requisition through the process of procurement of the good or service. This position is the first contact with the supplier with respect to inquiries regarding a purchase order, and will work closely with department requesters to coach and train staff to prepare MSR, and to inquire on the status of purchase orders issued to suppliers. The buyer reviews the requisition and prepares the purchase orders including the description, price, delivery and routing etc ensuring all information is specific as required by the vendor. The successful candidate will work with appropriate departments to coordinate the purchase of certain commodities such as computer equipment or electronic equipment or classroom and office furniture. The incumbent will become familiar with the College’s procurement policies and procedures and will advise and train the departments on statutes, regulations, and procedures for the procurement of commodities and/or services. Maintain PO filing system and follow up and expedite shipments. As well as, the buyer will become very familiar with Great Plains and attempt to ensure that the system is used to provide the best return on investment to Keyano College. The successful candidate will bring skills to the College which would require he/she to work as a team for internal projects.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Business Administration Diploma with 3+ years work experience in a purchasing related field and a PMAC membership is required. Candidate should be working towards or possess a CPP/SCMP or a recognized designation in the field of contract management. The successful candidate must have exemplary interpersonal and organizational skills and have the ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced, multi-task environment. Experience with Microsoft tools such as word and excel is required. In addition, experience with purchasing on the internet and Great Plains will be an asset. Knowledge of the principles and practices of centralized procurement, contract terms and conditions, types, characteristics, and supply sources of commodities and services commonly required by the College Departments, techniques used to assess the quality and value of commodities and services. The incumbent will also have the ability to apply proper descriptive terminology or established specifications to requisitions for commodities and services and be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, College Department staff, and vendors.

SALARY: $71,488.00 per annum plus an attractive benefits package.
