Kamengo is seeking a Project Coordinator to manage/organize every day office activities, take a lead role in our spare parts business unit, and support the delivery of major projects. The position, above all, demands someone who is obsessed with being organized, is computer savvy, and possess the leadership skills to take a frontline position in assisting the company to deliver complex, schedule-driven projects. Below are the challenges that await our new project coordinator:

1. Help keep the office running. The project coordinator will assist in everyday office activities, including filing GST, and monitoring company accounts payable and accounts receivable. In particular, the project coordinator will implement systems to organize the entry of payables. The project coordinator, after becoming comfortable with the company accounting system, will be tasked with supervising and directing the company bookkeeper, who is charged with making the rote entries into the accounting system.

2. Coordinate spare parts business unit. The project coordinator will work with senior management to develop systems to streamline our spare parts business. The project coordinator will also take a lead role in delivering spare parts orders, including: a) placing orders with sub-suppliers; b) preparing shipping documents such as NAFTA forms; c) coordinating the crating of equipment; d) shipping and tracking the delivery of spare parts orders; e) invoicing; and f) tracking business unit performance.

3. Support the delivery of major projects. Currently, Kamengo is delivering a handling system for an oil sands tailings remediation plant. The project coordinator will play a major role in helping to ensure that the project is delivered on-time. The project coordinator will work directly with the Project Manager to monitor the project schedule, coordinate/expedite the company's many sub-suppliers, support purchasing/sourcing of equipment and instruments, manage compliance with the company's quality assurance program, and assist with resource allocation. Above all, the project coordinator will organize and manage project documentation, tasks, and client correspondence.

The project coordinator position is intended to offer a willing candidate many opportunities to develop his or her project management and leadership skills. As described above, to be successful, the project coordinator will need to be: a) obsessed with being organized; b) adventurous and willing to step into realms in which he or she has limited expertise; c) computer savvy enough to engage with our accounting system and learn to navigate AutoCAD drawings; d) humble enough to view no task as too small - using every assignment as an opportunity to apply creative solutions to improving company performance; and e) a leader who brings a mission-oriented mentality that, with the support of the Project Manager, creates an environment for our engineers and sub-suppliers to meet the high demands of our clients.
