Tom Foord built Kal Tire based on his fundamental belief that the supply of top quality products at a fair price, backed by superior service, will produce customer satisfaction. It's what has come to be known as "True Service". His first customers in 1953 appreciated the way he conducted his business from his shop in Vernon, B.C., just as – more... his customers today appreciate the product, prices, service and guaranteed satisfaction provided at more than 200 Kal Tire outlets throught Western and Central Canada. Kal Tire is a wholly-owned Canadian company still based in Vernon, B.C. and operated by a functional zone management structure that focuses on customer service and teamwork. Presently Kal Tire has the capabilities to service its existing and potential customers through over 155 company-owned branches, 48 independent associate dealers, 10 mining/industrial/commercial locations, 13 retread facilities, 1 OTR plants and 7 warehouses. Kal Tire covers a market that includes British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northern Ontario, parts of Southern Ontario and Quebec, as well as Chile, South America. Kal Tire sells and services Bridgestone, Firestone, Michelin, Yokohama, Kumho, Nokian, Falken, Federal, Nitto and Multi-Mile products. These manufacturer/suppliers enable the company to inventory a wide range of tires to fit even the most exotic sizes. Retreading of industrial and commercial tires is an important part of the business, and in fact, Kal Tire is Canada's largest retreader of truck tires using the quality Bandag process. Kal Tire is unmatched in the tire industry with its guarantee programs on the products we sell and service. Our Customer Protection Care for personal use vehicles features free installation, free tire rotations, free flat repair, road hazard coverage and tread life guarantees. Like Kalamalka Lake, the prominent "Lake of Many Colours" landmark in Vernon, after which Tom Foord named his company, Kal Tire has gained prominence in Western Canada for it's distinctive features: these include accessible sales and service locations, a wide selection of quality products at competitive prices and the ability to supply superior service. The company is still based in its birthplace of Vernon, British Columbia.
