To provide clerical support to the Health and Safety teams for all sites. In addition, respond to the on-site needs of safety related matters by actively participating in the transportation of employees when required and the hands-on administration of safety related functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Prepare weekly, monthly and annual reports as directed by the safety teams;
-Attend customer and company meetings, assisting in capturing accurate notes and required actions;
-Assist in reporting company safety statistics and loss management performance to the site owners as required;
-Capture, monitor and trend activities such as safe work observations, Field Level Risk Assessments, Near Miss Cards, and inspections;
-Assist in the preparation of safety audits in accordance with company requirements and when required;
-Promote safe work practices and injury prevention activities;
-Following specific incidents, assist safety advisors by providing transportation for employees required to submit to Alcohol and Drug Testing;
-When required, participate in safety investigations and compile notes to assist the Safety Advisors and Management;
-Assist Safety Advisors with employee requirements as it relates to WCB Claims and activities associated with the claim.
-Assist in other safety related responsibilities when required.
Technical and Education Requirements:
-Post-Secondary Education (preferably in a related field) would be considered a strong asset.
-1 - 3 years occupational experience;
-Extremely proficient with the use of computers, Microsoft software, and Safety Management - Databases;
-A strong attention to detail;
-The ability to solve problems;
-Time Management and Prioritizing skills;
-The ability to be flexible and responsive to changing demands;
-Strong oral and written communication skills;
-Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills;
-Construction Safety Administrator Certification would be considered an asset.
