Kelowna General Hospital is a tertiary teaching facility in conjunction with UBC Southern Interior Medical Program. The Hospital has recently undergone unprecedented growth, adding $800 million in infrastructure in the last 5 years. The KGH Foundation’s current human resource plan provides for a growth strategy to match the growth of Kelowna General Hospital and we are currently seeking key positions to assist the KGH Foundation to achieve its goals.

 Communications Officer
 Major Gift officer
 Events and Projects Coordinator

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER (PT 20hr/wk)
The Communications Officer holds a pivotal position in the Foundation. The position is responsible for the coordination and execution of a cohesive, timely, effective and accurate communications strategy and media plan. The successful applicant will ensure the Foundation develops and implements a consistent and effective brand strategy to fulfill its mission.
Knowledge of best practices in strategic communications planning, public relations and media relations will ensure the Communications Officer develops external and internal plans in support of operational activities and program implementation.
The position participates in and informs joint planning efforts with key partners and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate:
 Is highly organized,
 Has excellent attention to detail,
 Has the capacity to manage simultaneous activities,
 Has strong critical thinking skills,
 Is competent in social media,
 Possesses significant creative writing skills
 Has a broad based of experience across medias

MAJOR GIFT OFFICER

The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for major gift activities for all Foundation programs. The incumbent will identify, develop and work independently with an extensive portfolio of donors.
Responsibilities include prospect management, development and implementation of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies.
The ideal candidate has:
 Experience working effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders,
 Ability to set priorities, complete work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
 A proven ability to secure, grow and sustain meaningful and lasting relationships
 Confidence Is articulate
 Possesses an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external contacts
 A drive to surpass goals
 A strong focus on accountability
 Experience with Raiser’s Edge is an asset

EVENTS AND PROJECTS COORDINATOR
The position is responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of a variable set of event oriented activities that accurately and appropriately represent the Foundation’s brand identity.
This position will support the activities of the Development Team and the Business Enterprise Team in event oriented activities.
The Events and Projects Coordinator develops an annual events plan, including a schedule of activities, budget and key outcomes. The position recruits, supports and recognizes a key group of stakeholders participating in the planning and delivery of event activities.
The ideal candidate has:
 Previous event management experience
 Knowledge of audio-visual standards
 Knowledge of local media culture
 Strong program and project management skills.
 Significant ability to manage varied tasks simultaneously.
 Significant attention to detail
 Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
