Sales Associate / Team Leader (Former Employee), kew gardens, queens, NY – March 13, 2013
Pros: they do lock in electric and gas rates
Cons: everything else
management is cool and make the day start off great... but the far traveling, not so good areas to do the door to door sales and ridiculously extensive hours kill the mood. Sold a bunch, the majority cancelled, meaning i only made enough to cover transportation and food. good job for a teen, not so much to support a family. Also has clips in the news – more... saying its a scam so NO ONE would even answer their doors after that. – less

Ears – April 13, 2013

Just energy is a scam for employees and specially for consumers. People who work there or stop because of pending deals that Beacwood and other offices keep. They corporate office keep your money give it to person running office. They tell the IRS you made the money they keep. Then they have contest to motivate you to get more deals. The money hand pic or to make it look good for new comers is the agent on money. Remember pendings deals that did magic tricks. The corporate keep your deals weekly a percent of everyone deals weekly. For example you made 1000 they report to IRS that you made all of deals you wrote. So if pending was 500 your taxes is 1500 that you made. So the company is getting rich off people. Also customers they don't have a rate it a ghost rate. Meaning the 5% discount is off there high rate that they don't post on their electric PUCO apple to apple. Yeah they gas is posted but that the intro rate not their rate they don't have one. I work their for long a I could take it. 12hr day on professional people that are the most liars on earth. Felt bad for new agent they get so deceive by contest money that's percent of recycle money that already theirs. Ive seen new young ladies come in babys to feed in write 50 deals and get no check for weeks. I wonder how they haven't got raided by police because what they do in morally wrong and against the law. They hire new people to keep it going out with one not with the plan. New people don't know.

Hated it!
Costumer Service/Independent Contractor (Former Employee), New York, NY – March 5, 2013
Pros: my co-workers
Cons: long days, with little to no pay for the work we did, commissioned only!!
I could not stand working for this company. I was only there for three months, and in that three months I worked more hours than a person with two full-time jobs. We would report to the office around 9 or 11 and would get out to the field to walk to knock on customers doors around 1 or 2 pm. Then we would be out there until around 10 pm at times. The – more... only up side was some of the people I worked with at times. – less

Horribly unstable business
COMMERCIAL/B2B SALES REPRESENTATIVES (Former Employee), liverpool, New York – November 27, 2012
Pros: co-workers, free lunches
Cons: bad management, hours, product, commission
A typical day at work started at 9:45am everyday including weekends. It starts out by you having your daily meeting on how to increase the number of customers to sign up for your product using a door to door method only. After the meeting everyone goes out walking around in all types of weather conditions consisting of snow, hail, rain, thunderstorms, – more... blizzards etc. We would walk around until 8:00 at night sometimes later. What ive learned at this job is how to deal with rejection because there is a lot especially going door to door offering customers a product they don't like. The management is very very rude and repulsive. The manager of the whole building takes his anger out on his employers if he is having a bad day. When you work there your assign to a team and work in a general area with your team. The team managers are like the manager of the whole building they will sometimes take your anger out on the other employers. At one point they will get a tad physical even with females if they couldnt handle the "stress". The whole company is corrupt ive seen many people who came and left in the business. Co-workers were average to very nice people its was the management that made things hard. Hardest part of the job was working the hours in the weather conditions while getting ill and the management. The most enjoyable part was only the co-workers – less

A Great Managing Position for Myself
Independent Contractor (Current Employee), Columbus/Cincinnati, OH – November 15, 2012
A typical day at work would be, any weather condition, whether happy or sad with things outside work, you still had a smile going to the residents home. Informing and making sure that everyone is signed up for their electric/gas supplier.

The things I learned are my ability to actually become a manager and lead my team to be successful. The ability – more... to accompany my teams' needs and also do my job was exciting on a personal level. Never thought I'd have the opportunity to run a team, to show that I am capable of handling more than one task at a time.

The management at Just Energy was great. The staff taught me everything I needed to know. After two weeks of presenting that I could handle more work, I was promoted to lead coordinator and trainer. I always wanted a job where I could advance and not spend a long time in shoes that would not move.

My Co-Workers are great people, always have a listening ear and do what I ask of them, knowing I would not lead them astray.

The hardest part of my job, sometimes, would be registering residents for their suppliers. I was not always welcomed at certain residents doors. It had been said that I was black, I am a big, athletic, and size might come off a bit intimidating. I have had the police called on me and my team. Maybe 30-35% of the residents do not know or understand why we are at their door and sometimes make the job hard.

The most enjoyable part is seeing people and talking to people everyday. I feel I am a "people person", and interacting is my favorite asset, especially with those that I do not know, or those that do not know me. – less

Pros: alot of money
Cons: time consuming
I love this company. The only bad thing about it is that it consumes your life so if your not ready to make over a $1,000 a week and dedicate your self to the company this job is not for you, that simple.
