Provide Job Readiness Skills and Employment Services to BladeRunners participants.
Assist marginalized “At-Risk Youth” (18 -30 years old) in preparing, obtaining and maintaining suitable employment.
Develop relationships with employers in a variety of industries to ensure successful job placement for participants.
Develop and facilitate employment related group workshops and life skills workshops for BladeRunners and EPBC clients.
Assist with the coordination of monthly workshops for EPBC clients.
Assist the Director of Community Programs with administrative needs as required.
Produce PowerPoint and Marketing information as required for presentations.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide BladeRunner participants with Job Readiness Skills and Employment Services.
Interview and assess clients to determine suitability for the BladeRunners program.
Case manage an active caseload of approximately 50 BladeRunners.
Develop individual Employment Plans for BladeRunners participants.
Support clients in developing effective job search skills including Resumes, Cover letters, Interview Skills, Internet Job Search skills and Hidden Job Market.
Contact and meet with potential employers.
Develop work placements specific to BladeRunners needs and abilities.
Drive clients to job interviews when clients need the extra support.
Monitor BladeRunners progress when newly placed. (Includes employer support, problem solving and troubleshooting.)
Maintain BladeRunners files and assist with monthly statistics and reports.
Monitor BladeRunners participants for the initial three months after placement and enter information onto CAMS (Case Administration Management System).
Develop and facilitate group employment related workshops for BladeRunners and EPBC participants.
Assist the Director of Community Programs coordinate monthly EPBC workshops.
Assist with the collection of data related to BladeRunners and or EPBC groups and forward to the Director of Community Programs.
Assist with monthly collection of statistical information and other reports.
Perform other related program and adminstrative duties as required.
Minimum 2 years experience working as an Employment Counselor or directly related field.
Experience working with “At Risk Youth” is essential.
Must have practical experience working with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Publisher and Power Point).
Proficient working with social media (i.e. Facebook).
Strong communication skills (Written and Oral).
Experience delivering Life Skills and Employability Skills workshops.
Knowledge of current labour market trends in Victoria and surrounding communities.
Ability to develop new partnerships with potential employers.
Comfortable performing public relations duties.
Must have strong file management skills and pay attention to detail.
Must have a vehicle in good working order. (Mileage is compensated at 50 cents per km)
Successful candidate must submit a Criminal Record Check and a Criminal Record check for working with Vulnerable Persons.
Successful candidate must have the ability to change priorities and enjoy multi- tasking.
You need to have a friendly and enthusiastic personality, with the ability to engage and motivate your clients.
Experience in the Customer Service industry a definite asset.
- Salary Range $23.15 - $24.95 depending on qualifications
- 35 hour work week (permanent full-time)
- Hours of work are 8:30am – 4:00pm (includes a 30 minute lunch break)
