Poorly ran business.
consultant. (Former Employee), Winnipeg, MBNovember 14, 2013
Pros: nothing.
Cons: no breaks, small office space, short hours
I worked here for 2 years, in my eyes it is a poorly ran business that will not succeed. The employees are not treated well, and the marketing for Jenny Craig is not doing well. Clientele is going down hill, which means less money for Jenny and less in your pocket. Many of the policies and procedures need to be updated. Many of the Clients commented – more... that they felt they were being harassed by the company. This is not a good look Jenny.
Ps. food is WAY too expensive, your better off learning how to portion size and eat healthy than buy their food. – less

Pros: free consultations and employee discount
Cons: sometime long hours.
Very nice and relaxing place to work. No rush and no push. We can work at our own phase. All the stuff are very friendly. The best part about this work is that we get to wear professional dress and the employee discount, plus free consultation. There is nothing hard about this job, except sometime we have angry husbands calling and yelling at us over – more... the phone.. – less

Pros: free food
Cons: low wage and no room to grow within the company
Ive learned a lot from being in this position from multitasking skills to phone sales to filing, answering phones, and paperwork. The only hardest part of the job was spending a hour or two lifting over 50 pounds in food boxes and stocking the freezer and doing this all by myself. The most enjoyable part of the job was interacting with the clients and – more... seeing there gradual success in weight loss, and seeing the constant health benefits. – less

Weight-loss Consultant (Current Employee), Miami, FLSeptember 5, 2014
Pros: nice to help clients. flexible schedule. work with nice people.
Cons: terrible pay, weekly hours cut, instability, constant change of offers and restructuring.
Different markets have different circumstances. In south florida the Jenny Craigs are run by a trio that doesn't care much about their employees, instead they care about their numbers. Not about the "little " people working to get those numbers up. They do not care about the people in each of their centers, not one bit.

Pros: private rooms for sessions and bright colorful decor.
Cons: rarely take a break. clients scheduled every 20 minutes.
Working here is very rewarding. You are changing your clients' lives. with weekly weight loss counseling sessions, weigh-ins and providing their next weeks' meals and snacks. When the clients get on that scale each week and have their measurements taken, they see positive results every week. These are the most encouraging things that keep them coming – more... back. As their friends and family see the difference in their weight, appearance and attitude, it normally leads to referrals that become new clients, and the cycle continues. – less

Pros: all pros
Cons: no cons
My work experience for Jenny and Sid Craig was an excellent experience. They rewarded hard work treated their employees with the advantage of advancement and fairness. I need to write her and thank her for the employment that assisted in the purchase of our house in Moreno Valley. I met her at the Potomac Mills Mall in No. VA at her book signing fair. – more... Challenging yet Rewarding Job
Weight Loss Consultant (Former Employee), Manalapan, NJAugust 4, 2014
Pros: able to create close interpersonal relationships
Cons: often 15 minutes per client was not enough, and i had to cut them off to make sure i was on time for my next appointment
Since this job was primarily commission based, I had to wear two hat, my sales woman hat, and my weight loss consultant hat. I had to think of my sales performance as well as the goals of my clients and what was best for them. This was probably the hardest part, finding a balance with the client so that both our needs were met. I found this job made – more... me more competitive as I made it a mission to always be top in sales and weight loss percentage. One of my clients lost 100 pounds and I was very proud of that, that is what made my job most enjoyable. But it was also rewarding to see how my salesmanship was reflected in my pay check. I made the decision to leave when I found that due to financial hardships, clients were unable to spend as much money, and therefore, I was unable to keep a steady pay check. As well, I felt the company did not appreciate its employees and, as rewarding as it was to help people change their lives, it was also important for me to make a living, and so I decided to part ways with Jenny Craig. My day consisted of 15 minutes one on one consultations, as well as extensive phone work, either calling to confirm appointments, or touch base with clients that I had not seen in a while. There was also the responsibility of keep track of our cash drawer, as well as receipts, and closing paper work. – less

Positive and happy to come to work every day to help one more person get healthy.
Sales Assistant Manager (Former Employee), Salem, ORJuly 25, 2014
Pros: education and lots of training that the company provided.
Cons: saying goodby to successfull clients who no longer needed the service.
Very fast paced and the schedule could change at any moment without notice. Phones would ring and I answered calls back to back to provide customer service. I enjoyed my career helping people with the goals of health and wellness. I worked with a great team, we all helped each other. The hard part was seeing clients with illness who had to lose weight – more... per Doctor orders and the reward was they got healthy, and it was a privilege to bond with many and I learned great nutrition information for myself as well.. – less

This job was rewarding and challenging
Program Director/Sales Manager (Former Employee), Bend, ORJuly 19, 2014
Pros: was challenging yet very rewarding to see each clients progress
Cons: high pressure to sell monthly quotas.
My job was to introduce the companys programs offered in a one on one interview and show the client the best program that fits their needs assing them with the appropriate consultant that I felt would be the best match for the client. My goal was to sell the client the life time program and products offered to help with their progress. Package their – more... food from their choice of menus, follow up with each client every two weeks to ensure they are happy with their consultant and they are having success. Called clients that signed up but were not coming in for their regular schedule with their consultants, assesing their concerns. – less

A job that I would never consider a career with minimal advancement opportunities and immature management.
Weight Loss Consultant (Former Employee), Omaha, NEJuly 17, 2014
I was bossed around to do janitorial duties and irrelevant tasks on a daily basis. These duties and tasks were only ever demanded of me and no one else and I was never given a reason why. I performed better than average and produced great numbers for the company, yet I was treated unfairly by management and was subject to the consequences of the extremely – more... steep mood swings of my direct boss. I loved my coworkers and my clients, the two only reasons I stayed at the job for the amount of time that I did. Business is not reliable, though, so I rarely saw the same amount of people on a daily basis.
As I said, I became very close with and loved my clients, and I learned a lot from being in a position to change peoples' lives forever and to help them lead a healthier lifestyle. I learned how to stick up for myself much better, as I had to do so with management and the way they treated me. I now know what to expect in terms of fair treatment in the work place.
Great job for the health-enthusiast in terms of the bare bones of the job, however it led to much unhappiness for me on a personal level. I'm sure this would be a great job if it was under different management! – less
