Client Coordinator
Customer services/ Client Co-coordinator (Former Employee), 2625C Weston RD – March 21, 2013
Pros: free consultations and employee discount
Cons: sometime long hours.
Very nice and relaxing place to work. No rush and no push. We can work at our own phase. All the stuff are very friendly. The best part about this work is that we get to wear professional dress and the employee discount, plus free consultation. There is nothing hard about this job, except sometime we have angry husbands calling and yelling at us over – more... the phone.. – less

Fun and engaging workplace
Customer Coordinator/ Administrative Assistant (Former Employee), Surrey, BC – April 30, 2012
Pros: free food
Cons: low wage and no room to grow within the company
Ive learned a lot from being in this position from multitasking skills to phone sales to filing, answering phones, and paperwork. The only hardest part of the job was spending a hour or two lifting over 50 pounds in food boxes and stocking the freezer and doing this all by myself. The most enjoyable part of the job was interacting with the clients and – more... seeing there gradual success in weight loss, and seeing the constant health benefits. – less

Highly competitive and constantly changing company.
Program Consultant (Current Employee), Bay Area, CA – May 8, 2013
Pros: 50% off food and 30% off products
Cons: commission pay, highly competitive/unhealthy work environment
A typical day at work consists of counseling clients to help achieve their weight loss goals. Consultations consist of nutritional advice and putting together a personalized menu. A lot of phone work is done to retain clients and to recruit old clients to come back to the program. I've learned a lot about nutrition, counseling techniques, managerial – more... duties, and administrative work. Absolutely love the team that I work with. The hardest part of the job is building and maintaining your business. It is a commission job so the environment can be highly competitive at times. The most enjoyable part is being able to work with the clients I get to help. – less

The benefit of changing people's lives
ASSISTANT MANAGER/PROGRAM DIRECTOR (Former Employee), Norwalk, CT – April 15, 2013
Pros: free lunch
Cons: sales
Counseling my customers in changing their life, simply by counseling the importance of weight loss. By counseling them, I have learned the benefit of health and weight loss and it affected my own personal life to make a change to my health. Good co-workers, professional. Sales was never my thing, but did it for reason that I knew it would benefit my – more... clients. – less

All those nasty stereotypes you have heard about women are true of Jenny Craig management.
Program Director/ Consultant (Current Employee), Greater Los Angeles – April 4, 2013
Pros: decent health benefits for full-time employed over 14 months, employees can lose some weight, good locations
Cons: company employees have given up, preservatives in frozen cuisine makes many ill.
Company brands itself as a supporter of women's health when really at the end of the day, it is women employees disrespecting their female coworkers. Management does not take accountability since corporate does not promote good employee practices.
Most of the employees are considerably overweight and don't care.

Excellent Customer Service, Training and Feel good work
Assistant Center Director (Former Employee), Portland, OR – April 4, 2013
Pros: excellent customer service focus, growth opportunities, program does work, good trainings
Cons: mean girl management style, poor pay, doesn't value diversity
Jenny Craig was a mixed experience absolutely loved providing high level customer support, enjoyed training and learning pretty sound weight loss/lifestyle strategies. The Field management is very barbie sorority style in that the politics are horrible and really scary. The weakest people can stay in the company and get many many chances to improve – more... their numbers and grow into management material since they share a similar lifestyle with Mgmt and create their own social circle (invitation only). Typically the GM or Center Director creates the Barbie and friends environment and if you don't fit into how they see the world you can face unnecessary challenges, never realizing its coming from the top managers as they are trying to force you to quit. This has nothing to do with your performance its very petty and like the movie "mean girls". I'm fairly think skinned yet that was hard to take since it doesn't support the business model.

I think this is because Jenny Craig isn't a company for women who NEED to work. The successful Barbies at Jenny Craig are doing this for something to do and get discounts on food and they really enjoy controlling the center environment with their personal preferences. – less

WARNING!
Program Administrator (Former Employee), SOUTH FL MARKET 9095 – April 4, 2013
Pros: the clients and making a difference in their lives.
Cons: the company does not care about its employees.
THIS COMPANY ONLY CARES ABOUT MAKING MONEY. EVERY MONTH GIVEN UNREALISTIC GOAL NUMBERS. YOU MAKE NO MONEY. STARTING PAY WAS 7.25 AN HOUR PLUS COMMISSION WHICH YOU MAKE 3 DOLLARS OFF A CLIENTS FOOD PURCHASE OF A MIN 100.00. THE HARDEST PART OF THE JOB WAS DEALING WITH EMPLOYEE TURN OVERS. EMPLOYEES QUIT LEFT AND RIGHT, ALWAYS SHORT STAFF. MARKET DIRECTORS – more... ARE IDIOTS. – less

Chel – April 20, 2013

Oh my gosh the starting pay is only $7.25 an hour? I would have thought the commision amount would be higher. I have an interview w/ them next week and am debating whether I should even go after reading many of the comments on here. Does your education level matter regarding pay or does that make it worse getting along w/ management if you have a degree?

Program Director (Former Employee), El Paso, TX – April 3, 2013
Pros: flexible schedule
Cons: no paid time off or health care
Everyone, from management to my co-workers were a pleasure to work with. It is a wonderful learning environment with helpful people at every turn. I was able to advance quickly with support from corporate and local team members. The most enjoyable part to this job is the ability to help others and interact with the public on a personal level.

Productive fast paced, life changing environment
Center Manager (Former Employee), Culver City, CA – March 31, 2013
Pros: great training, teamwork environment and advancement opportunity
Cons: clients will become impatient and quit before they are finish
A typical day at work consistant of enrolling new clients in the program, counseling current client, calling clients who did not enroll, and calling clients who stopped coming.

I learned that Jenny Craig really works. I was able to help one of my clients lose 150lbs

Management: My manager was amazing, supportive, patient, and willing to take a chance – more... on hire a male. She had a great balance of driving numbers and helping our clients.

Co-Workers: Were great the really loved the job and all had a desire to help change peoples lives the best they could.

Hardest part of the job was when someone quits at their halfway goal and didn't want the maintenance program after.

The most enjoyable part of the program was watching people confidents increase as they saw there results from losing the weight. – less

Positive Challenges in my position
Weight Loss Consultant/sales (Former Employee), Carlsbad, CA – March 30, 2013
Pros: seeing my clients reach their goals
Cons: hours were changed to nights and weekends too
As a weightloss consultant it was such a bennefit to have clients stay motivated and stay on their program to loose the weight and reach their goal . It was challenging to create a new way for each client to stay motivated and on their program. To keep the clients on program also meant keping them purchasing the food. and also having the consultations – more... over the phone. I had to be a great listner and encourager. This created great bonds with the members.
This was a positive challenge in my position. – less

Cons: non supportive management
I absolutely loved my job. I took hours cut and pay cut just to enjoy my positiionand help others. The hardest part is the companies lack of leadership.

Would it be worth the time for a part-time evening or weekend job? I need to find a 2nd job in addition to my full time job and have an interview next week. I see from many of the comments that the pay is very low and commission is low too?

Rewarding to help a client reach their goal weight

Pros: fun place to work.
Cons: when the economy isn't doing well, my paycheck is affected.
* Sell potential clients a program & week of food.
* Advise weekly clients & sell food.
* Update weekly reports.
* Confirm appointments.
* Call clients that have stop coming.
* Check in food deliveries.

Wonderful place to work
Weight Loss and Sales Consultant (Current Employee), Overland Park, KS – March 12, 2013
Pros: incredible ties with people
Cons: lack of advertising to where we would get new customers to come through the door.
A typical day starts out with goal setting and setting of expectations by myself and the Center Director. I see 3 clients per hour where we celebrate their successes and access their weight and go over their challenges of the upcoming week and help them in selecting their purchases of food and products to aide in their weight loss.

Its a small office – more... with all different dynamic personalities. The hardest part of my job is when a client can no longer afford the food and are forced to cease coming in and can no longer do the program.

The best part of my job is meeting each week with my clients. I love to hear the things they can now do being 10, 20, or 50 pounds lighter. I love to hear their success of overcoming food obstacles and finding their own sense of who they are. – less
