We are seeking a CNC Lathe Operators for our Edmonton location. While adhering to standard safety and quality operational policies and procedures, the primary functions of the CNC Lathe Operator will be to operate a Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machine to cut all sizes of threads to an API standard or customer specification for drill pipe, hevi-wate, drill collar, tubing, casing, pups and subs products.
This position requires a mechanically inclined person with good technical education and the capability of calculating the strength of materials and the resultants of forces, as well as for reading drawings and specifications.
Operate CNC machine according to set specifications
Regular equipment clean-up and maintenance according to manufacturer’s specifications
Manual and assisted loading and unloading unit with heavy pipe
Administration of multiple work orders
Quality assurance in accordance to specifications-gauging threads
Application of thread dope and protectors
Mentor junior machinist and helpers
Must have basic math and writing skills
Possess mechanical aptitude, with an eye for detail and a willingness to learn
Be punctual, reliable, and willing to work flexible hours
Required to work safely, within standard policies and procedures
Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team setting
