JDM DESIGNWORKS INC. has an opening for a Construction Millwright. Reporting to the Project Supervisor the candidate will be accountable for the timely completion of projects. Specific Responsibilities Will Include:
Ability to interpret complex CAD and site plan drawings
Strong proven background in new installation, field fabrication (e.g. fitting, welding, etc.) and general machine maintenance
Timely and safe completion of shop or field work as required to maximize productivity, while prioritizing and balancing a variable workload.
Operate various welding related machinery and equipment that is typical to a welding/manufacturing environment
Operate hoisting and lifting devices (e.g. lift truck, jib hoist)
Ensure adherence to safety and Quality standards (e.g. applicable building and fire codes or CWB conformances)
Work in a fast paced team environment
Qualifications of the Position Include:
Strong proven background in site fabrication (e.g. fitting, welding, etc.)
Preference given to individuals with 3+ years job related work experience. **Welding experience an asset. A shop welding test may be required
A current Red Seal Journeyman Certificate and 3+years related job experience
Working with various tradespeople. Strong communication skills are required. Must be team oriented
Must be confident to work at heights and in confined spaces
Rigging experience as well as fluent with crane signals
In-depth knowledge of Shop Safety and Joint Health and Safety protocols & workplace inspection process. Industry related certifications a definite asset (e.g.: First Aid, Fall Arrest, Lockout/Tagout, Propane Handling)
