JDM DESIGNWORKS INC. has an opening for a Senior Shop Supervisor / Working Foreman. Reporting to the Project Supervisor the candidate will be accountable for overseeing shop staff to ensure the timely completion of projects .

Specific Responsibilities Will Include:

• Supervise workers and projects
• Co-ordinate the timely completion of shop work that maximises efficiencies for both shop and in-field activities that will offer exceptional customer service
• Schedule and complete to arranged timelines
• Train &/or arrange training and certifications as required (e.g. WHMIS, First Aid)
• Ensure adherence to safety and Quality standards (e.g. applicable codes or CWB conformances)
• Recommend budget and staffing actions
• Manage tool and supply inventory; maintain shop in a neat and orderly fashion

Qualifications of the Position Include:

• A completed technical diploma or equivalent with preference in the metal or fabricating discipline
• Preference will be given to individuals with CWB Supervisor designation
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to interpret blueprint and CAD drawings an asset
• Strong proven background in fabrication (e.g. fitting, welding, etc)
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem solving skills with the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
• Production-oriented and self-motivated, with a strong customer focus
• Ability to manage projects, prioritize and balance a variable workload
• In-depth knowledge of Shop Safety protocols and workplace inspection process. Previous experience working on/with Joint Health and Safety committees a definite asset

• Office Located in Havelock, Ontario

Hours of Work:

• Work schedule consists of a 40-44 hour work week
