Job Description

Title: Project Supervisor

Department: Projects

Reports to: Project Manager, Managing Director

Location: Richmond, BC, very frequent and extended country-wide travel to project sites as required by project work load

Duration: Permanent

Number of Openings: 2

Compensation: Salary, negotiable and depending on experience

Work Hours: 10 h days, depending on shift cycle, not eligible for overtime

Responsibilities and Tasks
- Assist in the preparation of the project objectives, scope and plan
- Assist in the evaluation of vendor engineering and equipment selection and make recommendations to client
- Participate in the preparation of in house engineering drawings and documents
- Ensure engineering produced by others meets the requirements standards
- Assist in the selection and procurement of equipment, material and construction services required for the project area of responsibility
- Oversee the scope of work for construction services
- Expedite supplies to meet the schedule
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with contractual and schedule obligations
- Participate in preparing the project budget
- Monitor budget and schedule during engineering, procurement and construction phases of project
- Participate in the quality control of all engineering, procurement and construction to ensure that the project is constructed within the client’s quality requirements
- Contribute to all phases of engineering, procurement and construction for progress, costs and record keeping and make required reports to senior management
- Assist in planning and executing the activities necessary to fulfill Iyinisiw’s obligations for assistance to the client with the installation, commissioning and handover
- Actively promote and participate in the safety program of Iyinisiw
- Other tasks as related to Project Management as assigned during the course of business

Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent areas
- 5 years’ experience in industrial construction covering a wide range of projects, and at least 2 years as Project Team Leader or Department Head
- Pulp and Paper experience is considered an asset.
- Licensing by a provincial or territorial association of professional engineers is considered an asset
- Certification as a Project Management Professional is considered an asset
- Excellent English communication skills in speaking, understanding, writing and reading
- Skills in other languages are an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, MS Project, proficiency in drafting software is considered an asset
- Valid safety certifications are considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a valid driver’s license
