Issues Ink is looking for an off-site freelance video editor to join our design team. The desired candidate would work alongside Issues Ink staff remotely on the editing and post-processing of supplied video material. Shooting will likely not be required. The candidate must be passionate about creating engaging video content for the web (as well as mobile-compatible) and understand how to create quality video post-production in an ever-evolving industry. This position requires a creative, intuitive personality with a particular skill for dynamic presentation. Applicants must be able to develop ideas independently and respond efficiently to client needs and requests. The video editor must show a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and turn around projects within a short time frame, and will work remotely with Issues Ink to create content on behalf of multiple Issues Ink properties. A spirit of collaboration and strong communication skills are a must.
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Final Cut and Photoshop
Comfortable working on both Windows and Mac platforms in a collaborative shared storage network environment. Mac platform preferable, but not required
Understanding of codecs, exporting, transcoding and converting video files
Can excel in “finishing” a video (balancing audio, color correcting, fine tuning cuts etc.)
Strong communication (written and verbal) skills
Exceptionally creative problem solving abilities
Ability to work productively under pressure and within tight deadlines. Careful attention to detail and timelines
Knowledge of the post-process; ability to troubleshoot tech issues a plus
Ability to activate quickly and switch directions as needed
Responsible, detail-oriented and organized with an independent spirit and optimistic outlook
Sample reel of original video content edited for web
Edit and provide post-production to supplied video files for Issues Ink properties
Work with property leads, designers and client services staff (as needed) to produce web and mobile compatible final video content
Maintain strict confidentiality of all projects assigned
Media management - organization/transfer/archiving footage
Exceptional ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Participate in development of web video and new media initiatives
Understand the various Issues Ink audiences, brands, and create products accordingly
Commensurate with experience
Negotiable – per project vs. hourly depending on scope of individual projects
