We are a premier digital marketing agency located in the heart of downtown Toronto’s Fashion district and seeking a talented Senior Back-End Web Developer for a full time role. The candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and within our Toronto location.
 
Core Technical Requirements
- 6+ years experience with Java, J2EE
- 4+ years experience with Spring Framework
- Experience with rapid application development frameworks such as Grails, Rails, Django
- Experience working with medium to large web application servers (eg. Tomcat, Websphere, etc.)
- Experience with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server and database technologies such as JDBC, Hibernate, SQL, etc.
- Experience with Unit Testing and Test Driven Development
- Experience working with version control systems (eg. SVN/GIT)
- Experience integrating with front-end technologies (eg. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, AJAX, JQuery)
- Experience working with build technologies (ANT, Maven, MS Team Build, Cruise Control, Hudson, Jenkins, etc.)
- Experience working with Agile methodologies, the SDLC and Object Oriented Programming
- Experience working with Design Patterns

Individual Performance
- Developing components, services and web applications using various technologies
- Designing software using design patterns and best practices
- Writing and reviewing technical specifications
- Troubleshooting,performing problem analysis and fixing bugs
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions for new refactoring ideas
- Interprets written business requirements and technical specification documents
- Performs coding to written technical specifications
- Investigates,analyzes and documents reported defects
- Performs maintenance programming and correction of identified defects
- Creates,documents, and implements unit test plans, scripts, and test harnesses
- Creates and maintains technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates
- Performs related duties as assigned

- Participates in achieving project objectives through own activities with direction and support from others
- Supports senior staff in preparing and delivering work to clients within Isobar
- Responds to client requests in a timely manner
- Emerging in external client/vendor management skills and techniques but typically limited contact

Required Knowledge & Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree strongly recommended in Computer Science, Software Engineering, etc.
- 4-7 years of related work experience
- Demonstrated ability to take concise and accurate notes in team or client meetings
- Ability to take direction and execute with some guidance
- Strong interest and familiarity with the digital agency business
- Requisite level computer skills to execute the job function effectively
