The Office/Assistant Medic Coordinator is the right-hand support person for the Paramedic Coordinator in Fort St. John, BC. Initially, the job will entail learning how the paramedic program works and providing administrative support, however the job will quickly grow into a “second-in-charge” role as this person takes responsibility for helping to run Iridia’s Paramedic Program. Some of the things you’ll be doing include scheduling and coordinating travel for paramedics, managing the equipment and supplies going out to the camps, running errands, facilitating drug and alcohol testing protocols, assisting in the development of occupational health and safety initiatives, being a resource for paramedics in camp, fielding emails and phone calls from paramedics, assisting with orientation and other protocols, and a whole host of things we don’t have space to mention. This is an exciting and dynamic role in an ever-changing industry. If you like work that’s varied, fast-paced, challenging, and changing all the time, you may be a fit for this role. This position does require you to be on call evenings and weekends occasionally, as well as for holidays and out of office work days. In addition, we require the use of a personal vehicle as the role involves some driving.
Are You a Fit?
If you’re applying for this position we’ll assume you have outstanding computer skills and are proficient with Microsoft Office. You’ll know your way around the Internet, have excellent time management and multi-tasking skills, and be completely committed to providing excellent customer care. But more than the obvious administrative skill set, you’ll be a fit if you are someone who enjoys the challenge of a fast-paced work environment. You’ll enjoy this job if you’re a self-starter and can keep yourself busy on days when things are quiet, as well as maintaining your cool when they’re going a little crazy. If you are a dynamic person who will enjoy looking after our remote staff and giving our clients the best experience possible, we want to hear from you.
If you have experience in occupational health and safety, an OFA 3 certification or knowledge of the oil and gas industry, that would be considered a significant asset in being considered for this role.
Send us a resume of your skills and experience – that will help us determine whether you have the foundational skills we need for this position. Beyond that, we want to know if you’ll be a good fit for us, and us for you. So sell us on why we should hire you. Tell us about the kind of work you love and the qualities that make you good at what you do. What are the things in a job that energize and motivate you and what are the things that drain your energy? What’s important to you about a company’s culture, and in what kind of environment are you a best fit?
Because we need to circulate your information digitally, please submit your resume and proposal letter by email only to Ingrid Vaughan, HR Manager. Your resume and proposal should be attached as Word documents or pdf’s and NOT sent in the body of the email. If you are successful in moving forward, we have a multi-layered recruitment process, and you’ll be asked to complete several assignments prior to the interview stage. Once we receive your letter and resume, we’ll let you know what comes next. Deadline for applications is June 21.
We believe in compensating our employees fairly according to industry standards, so for this position the salary level will be in the $45-50,000 range, depending on your skills and experience. In addition to the annual salary, Iridia offers a strong benefits package, as well as annual profit sharing. When the company succeeds, employees reap the benefits of their hard work and contribution to company success.
We look forward to hearing from you!
