Working at Ipsos Direct was my first experience working with other people. Cold calling clients for the purpose of gaining market research information was the main task of this role. The work was fairly straight forward as tasks were distributed fairly and staff were briefed on the surveys and locations beforehand.
Co-workers were sometimes young and immature as it was an entry level position, although management seem to handle this well. The turnover rate was quite high.
The most difficult part of the job were clients acting in ways that were not always respectful, although due to the training given it became second nature on how to handle clients professionally and with respect.
The most enjoyable part of the job was the constant interaction with others and being able to speak with people about their opinions and views for the purpose of gaining research. It was an interesting position and I look back on it positively.
