Spinning Technician (Former Employee) – Kingston, ON – 29 December 2016
Extremely hot work environment. Wearing long sleeves and pants with hard hat. 12 hrs shifts with no breaks over a 12hr shift, if your machine is running poorly. Which was always. Everyone hides injuries because afraid being fired. Nothing ever got fixed unless it could be fixed with duct tape and garbage bag. Washrooms with 12 toilets, now at 2 because they would never fix anything. Mangement full of lazy , but kissers, who could never operate the machines. Mangement would go out of there way to make life difficult for targeted employees. Wage cuts, no raises ever!!!!! Layoffs for factory workers then expected to do 3 jobs instead of one. While mangement was always top heavy. Anything to make a penny.
Good Co - workers
Abusive Mangement, MBM principles apply to workers only, not management . Wage cuts, layoffs
Engineer (Former Employee) – Victoria, TX – 7 March 2016
This is a great place to get starting experience but the current structure is not designed to maintain experience nor encourage growth. If you are not an individual that is a go getter, this is not the place for you.
Coworkers are by far the best aspect of this company
One has the ability to learn any area of interest here, but must be prepared to learn it through ones own pursuit while juggling other responsibilities.
The hardest part of working for this company is working through the decisions that management makes. While their ideas are usually good, they do not put in place a vehicle to make those ideas successful.
Company uses MBM, and although the MBM is sound, at this site the structure and principles that make up MBM feel more like words on a page than a culture to strive for.
This company knows how to run a business but could improve on the people department.
Contract Employee (Former Employee) – Kingston, ont – 4 August 2015
The company expects a good days work from each of its employees. There is performance pay for those that have worked hard and gone above and beyond. This pay system has created some animosity amongst some.
The company is well managed and tries to treat people fair.
I understand that every company is here to make money. They are investing lots of it into the Kingston Site and this is a good thing. However there is to much emphasis on people cutting and wage cutting.
The good thing about the site is that i feel it will be here for some time due to the ever cutting costs. But at what point do you stop at the expense of the worker.
Very Organized company with clear expectations in mind
Very business driven which leaves a lot of people feeling stressed often
Process Engineering Intern (Former Employee) – Kingston, ON – 20 October 2013
Had an excellent time working at INVISTA (Canada) Company. The work was always new and interesting, keeping things entertaining and different. The people there were really friendly and created a positive work atmosphere in the technical department. Layoffs that occurred while I was working there, however, caused the atmosphere in operations to be non-ideal.
Flexible work hours, great benefits, great co-workers
