Founded in 2005, Invico Capital Corporation is a Calgary, Alberta based independent alternative investment fund management firm with approximately $170 million of private capital under management. Invico provides alternative capital solutions, including both equity and debt to assist high quality companies and management teams in making strategic acquisitions, financing capital expenditures and/or growth programs and supporting working capital requirements. We are currently looking to fill the position of Vice President, Lending, in our Calgary office.
The successful applicant will be located in Calgary and will be primarily responsible for originating, structuring debt transactions, assessing risk, monitoring and sourcing new opportunities for a $50 million debt portfolio. This individual will have 7-10 years’ experience, with a relevant commercial banking or private lending background. A strong credit background and be able to think strategically will be needed to structure transactions to meet both the client’s needs and Invico’s investment criteria. The ability to work in a fast-pace and autonomous environment with strong communication and interpersonal skills is a must.
Specific Duties include:
i. Developing a marketing plan for Invico’s lending platform to facilitate the origination of new lending opportunities including bridge, mezzanine, factoring and subordinated credit products by establishing relationships with professionals and industry participants; engaging in industry associations and events to improve the market visibility of the lending offering; generating marketing materials and overview presentations to promote the lending platform; and developing an initial call and follow up program with prospective companies for Invico's debt financing program.
ii. Working alongside Invico’s internal General Counsel in structuring debt facilities in accordance with the investment criteria of the Corporation;
iii. Preparing indicative term sheets and negotiating terms with prospects;
iv. Conducting due diligence regarding opportunities set out in accordance with the credit policies of the lending fund, including financial statement review; cash flow analysis; management assessment; determination of security strength, coverage, and recourse; industry analysis; and other customary diligence as is determined necessary;
v. Completing investment decision reports as required pertaining to investments contemplated by the lending fund;
vi. Managing the due diligence budget and engaging third party consultants as required;
vii. Monitoring the compliance of lender agreements on segments of the portfolio allocated for review by the portfolio manager;
viii. Identifying and monitoring any non-compliance by borrowers and implementing strategies to assist borrowers to become compliant;
ix. Assisting the Portfolio Manager with optimizing the capital structure of the lending fund and margin enhancement; and
x. Promoting the brand of Invico and the lending fund.
