Founded in 2005, Invico Capital Corporation is a Calgary, Alberta based independent alternative investment fund management firm with approximately $200 million of private capital under management. Invico provides alternative capital solutions, including both equity and debt to assist high quality companies and management teams in making strategic acquisitions, financing capital expenditures and/or growth programs and supporting working capital requirements. We are currently looking to fill the position of Vice President, Energy Services Trade Finance, in our Calgary office.
The successful applicant will be located in Calgary and will be primarily responsible for originating, trade financing opportunities for a $55 million debt portfolio. You will have an extensive network and deep relationships with small to mid-sized energy services companies over the last 10-15 years of your career. Your network of service companies across Western Canada with numerous contacts in small and medium size services centers (Red Deer, Lloydminster, Nisku, Grand Prairie, Fort McMurray, Fort St. John and others).This individual ideally has a background in energy services, financial or business development, and experience in commercial and/or alternative lending. The ability to work in a small, results driven team; all aligned to the profitable growth of the firm, is a must. Direct experience with trade finance (factoring) is an asset but not required.
Specific Duties include:
i. Origination of trade finance (factoring) and alternative finance opportunities on behalf of the company.
ii. Relationship management and monitoring of energy services accounts.
iii. Developing a marketing plan for Invico’s lending platform to facilitate the origination of new lending opportunities including bridge, mezzanine, factoring and subordinated credit products by establishing relationships with professionals and industry participants; engaging in industry associations and events to improve the market visibility of the lending offering; generating marketing materials and overview presentations to promote the lending platform; and developing an initial call and follow up program with prospective companies for Invico's debt financing program.
iv. Working alongside Invico’s internal General Counsel in structuring debt facilities in accordance with the investment criteria of the Corporation;
v. Preparing indicative term sheets and negotiating terms with prospects;
vi. Promoting the brand of Invico and the lending fund.
Your competitive base salary will be supplemented with a performance based incentive program, through which you will be able to multiply your earnings based on the direct results in originating performing trade finance loans.
