Trail Health Centre is seeking a qualified Therapy Assistant to join the rehabilitation team in providing enhanced solutions to clients who would otherwise be in residential or Alternate Level of Care beds. The Home First Program reinforces that often the best solution for seniors to make more informed decisions about the future is being at home and decreasing the length of stay in hospital. This position will join the Trail multidisciplinary team and see Home First Program clients on a regular basis in their homes.
This is a permanent, part time position consisting of 33.75 per week.
A Therapy Assistant works under the clinical direction of a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist and functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team in meeting the needs of the client. The Therapy Assistant carries out rehabilitative treatment plans and programs and assists the therapist in monitoring and evaluating patients/residents’ progression. The Therapy Assistant assists clients with activities of daily living, and implements group and individual programs in clients’ homes and other community sites.
Travel is involved to outlying areas in providing clinical services to clients in their homes. A valid Driver’s License is necessary. Access to a personal vehicle is required.
