Interior Health is seeking a Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug Clinician for our Castlegar Health Centre.

This position requires a high level of clinical knowledge and skill in addiction work, as it entails facilitating mobile Addiction Day Treatment Groups, addiction knowledge exchange (CAP), supervision and consultation for complex addiction cases, and oversight of other regional addiction programs (i.e. accommodation fee subsidy, level 5 residential treatment referrals, and support recovery programs).

As the Alcohol and Drug Clinician you will work independently but link with other case managers within the region and coordinate groups in the communities of Castlegar, Trail, Nelson and Grand Forks. Responsibilities include referrals and intake, designing the components of the group program and bringing in adjunct treatment options, setting up program schedules and delivering the program.

  • Masters degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position.
  • Two years’ recent related experience in an alcohol and drug treatment environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Direct experience in developing and managing group programs is an asset.
  • Current valid driver’s license.
