About Intergraph

They like wide open spaces at Intergraph -- and city streets, too. The company provides spatial information management software, which enables mapping and design functions for local, state, and federal government agencies, and for businesses in the transportation, process plant design, power, marine, public safety, and utilities industries. Its systems – more... (a combination of software, third-party hardware, and services) are used for a wide range of functions, including plant design, ship construction, public safety dispatch, aerial photography, and geospatial mapping and analysis. In 2010 the company was acquired by  Hexagon in a transaction valued at around $2 billion.

Intergraph became Sweden-based Hexagon's core software platform and maintained its name and branding as a subsidiary. Intergraph's software was also integrated into Hexagon's measurement and precision technology system markets. After the acquisition was complete, Hexagon took over management control of the company, naming Hexagon president and CEO Ola Rollén as CEO of Intergraph. Former chairman, president, and CEO Haley Wise left the company, along with COO Reid French and CFO Anthony Colaluca.

Integraph acquired the public safety software product operations and customers of Denali Solutions in 2011 to boost its profile with public safety and security agencies. The extended the functionality of Integraph's Web-based records management application suite, which enables clients to oversee incident requests, dispatch, reporting, investigation, and court documentation from a single software interface. Also that year, Integraph bought data integration software developer Augusta Systems, a specialist in applications used to manage information collected from cameras, sensor systems, and computer networks.

Integraph, originally a manufacturer of workstations, servers, microprocessors, and software, had a protracted legal dispute with Intel that in part led the company to transform itself. After laying off employees, outsourcing all manufacturing, and winding down its hardware operations, Intergraph now provides just software and services. – less
