Chief Operating Officer (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – 24 February 2017
Lots of opportunity for advancement, skills are transferrable, management is approachable and friendly. If you want a company that values its employees and provides lots of experience, this is the place.
Security Guard (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – 8 May 2015
Situation: Was hired full-time. Never received any full-time hours. People are continuously being hired to fill full-time positions yet I've been working there since October and nothing. Now extra shifts are cut at my site, so I'm only getting 24 hours a week. To top it off, not allowed to take any weekends off for some reason even though I have unused vacation days
Observations about the company: Scheduling is a wreck, HR doesn't help any of the employees- actually NO ONE does. There's no one at Intelligarde who works in management who actually care about the guards. If they make mistakes and you don't notice them yourself, you're on your own. Supervisors are unable to train. Other guards are incompetent, but that' the fault of the supervisor in a lot of cases. I've learned a lot of things about how poorly some corporations run, but nothing about actual security except for examples of what not to do. It's basically a dead end job that looks better than saying that you worked at McDonald's. It honestly seems like the higher-ups (Scheduling, HR, CEOs, Dispatch, Duty Pros) don't take the interests of the guards into consideration.
Working overnights, some of the people, good background with Ontario + Peel + Toronto police
