Position highlights

Our Corporate Security department has a tremendous opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to manage their team of experienced security and protection professionals. As the Manager Corporate Security you will be responsible for the planning, developing and delivering of comprehensive security programs and services related to the protection of corporate physical assets and employee safety.

The Manager Corporate Security is responsible for evaluating security arrangements and implementing security measures, procedures and response protocols; managing contract security services and provide direction, training and guidance; maintaining liaison with external agencies to ensure security policies, procedures and programs are consistent with industry standards and regulatory requirements; maintaining appropriate emergency response procedures and participating in business continuity planning; and to maintain knowledge of best practices, trends and development in the field.

Position requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Extensive knowledge of facilities security best practices and the relevant acts and regulations relating to safety and WorkSafeBC;
  • Full understanding of the Criminal Code and provincial statutes and laws, along with investigative techniques relating to criminal activities;
  • A background in law enforcement in the management capacity, security guard management, financial and budget planning and emergency management would be an asset
  • A Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation or equivalent would also be an asset.

In addition, your knowledge of principles, standards, methods and technology and analytical/investigative techniques of the security field as it relates to the protection of assets and employees. With your background as a senior manager you have experience in interaction with all levels of hierarchy internally and with various external agencies. You must meet the provincially legislated requirements of the Criminal Records Review Act.
