InspireHealth, a leader in Canada in providing programs that integrate health and wellness programs into acute illness treatment, is seeking passionate Physician (MDs) to join our team. We are seeking a casual Physician (contract) to join our Kelowna centre.
Previous cancer treatment experience or experience with complementary medicine (i.e., acupuncture, etc.) is not a requirement for a physician to work at IH, as this is not the focus of our practice. We focus on healthy nutrition, exercise, and stress reduction. We live by these principles in our own lives. Therefore, modeling health and well-being is a requirement for a physician at IH.
InspireHealth initiatives are designed to create an optimal cancer recovery environment supported by current evidence-based research. Integrative care actively engages patients to take charge of their health. By providing practical programs, patients are empowered to play an active role in their recovery.
With the long-term commitment from the BC Government to support the expansion of our vision, InspireHealth has the financial and staff resources to grow and help shape the future of health care.
The Family Physician is responsible for providing integrative cancer care services to patients and reaching out to our surrounding communities. You use a comprehensive whole-person approach to care, and believe that physicians must empower patients with evidence-based tools and compassion.
This is an exciting opportunity to make an impact and join a team that has provided integrative health and wellness care to over 7,200 British Columbians (BC) diagnosed with cancer since 1997.
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, you will:
Provide integrative cancer care services to patients
Teach and facilitate patients and their families in IH programs
Reach out to the community through speaking engagements

Currently enrolled with the Medical Services Plan
Have an active Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) membership
Have a minimum of two years of experience in the Canadian healthcare system in general practice or a specialty area, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
You are noted for having a holistic patient-centered philosophy and style with clinical skills supportive of patient empowerment and a compassionate presence. You have strong leadership, facilitation, and presentation skills, which will be called upon in this role. You possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
