This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in part time work (15 – 20 hours a week).


-A Bachelor of Social Work or related social services degree
-Public speaking and community networking experience
-Strong organizational and problem solving skills
-Ability to build strong and effective relationships with people
-Knowledge and experience in the area of settling newcomers and immigrants
-Effective oral and written communication skills in English required and proficiency in other languages of majority of the clients an asset
-Must be competent in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and database programs.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
-Class 5 Driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
-Police Clearance is required.


-Provide individual support/counselling and referrals to immigrant women
-Run support groups relating to settlement and trauma as well as education groups (PTSD, domestic violence, trauma etc.)
-Represent the organization at community activities to enhance the organization's community profile
-Monitor the day-to-day delivery of the programs and services of the organization to maintain or improve quality
-Oversee the planning, implementation, execution and evaluation of special projects
-Research funding sources, participate in the development of fund raising plans and writing of funding proposals
-Participate in fundraising activities as appropriate
-Communicate with stakeholders to keep them informed of the work of the organization and to identify changes in the community served by the organization
-Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, funders, and other organizations to help achieve the goals of the organization
-Maintain written documentation on activities, meetings, and correspondence
-Other duties may be assigned as required
