Our client who is associated with the Christian Church is looking for a strong Administrative Assistant to support the company's director and to be an integral part of the team. If you are passionate about children and global ministry this would be an ideal role. The client is a child sponsorship program that works globally in Africa, Asia, South America and Central America. The goal is to connect local and global churches to fulfill our vision of activating change locally to impact children globally.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

 Assisting the Director an administrative capacity
 Reconciliation and balancing at month end to ensure the general ledger accounts coincide with the fund disbursement reports
 Responsible for a variety of financial tasks (i.e. bank deposits, donor contributions and disbursements, financial preparatory tasks for monthly procedures, reconciliations)
 Communicating with donors while maintaining a pleasant manner through various situations
 Maintaining donor database system
 Completing a variety of administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, scheduling meetings.

Qualifications:

 Previous experience working as an administrative assistant in a financial capacity
 Very strong numeracy skills especially in the area of monetary transactions
 Strong donor care skills required; willingness to maintain donors and ensure proper protocols are followed
 Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Access, Excel, as well as a willingness to learn and adapt to new software programs
 Detail oriented, analytical, strong problem-solving skills
 Ability to multitask as well as prioritize a large workload in a high-paced environment
 Strong communication (both verbal and written) and organizational skills
 Able to work effectively in a team environment and also with little or no supervision
 Experience with child sponsorship an asset

Education:

College diploma and / or the equivalent of 2-3 years of experience as an administrative assistant with financial responsibilities

Terms: Full time, temp to perm
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:00
Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour
Anticipated Start Date: February 3rd, 2014
Location: Near Square One, Mississauga
