On behalf of our client, iTech Recruitment is looking for an Intermediate (Web) QA Analyst to join their team for a 4 month contract with strong possibility of extension. Contract-to-hire arrangement is also possible.
The ideal candidate will have good understanding of manual testing, some development/scripting skills (developer background is desired but not mandatory), and will have the ability to quickly understand business to write test cases. You will have prior experience testing web-based applications in Agile/SCRUM environments.
Participate in testing and maintaining a test development environment that spans front-end and services tiers. Assist with test planning, creation, and execution of test cases, performs manual, exploratory, regression, smoke and automated testing
Clients’ agile QC process includes: writing test cases, developing test scripts, monitoring continuous Integration, testing functional and non-functional requirements, regression testing, code coverage analysis, performance testing, end-to-end integration testing.
Interacting with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of developers, test developers, UI developers and designers, architects, business analysts and users.
Document, track and triage the identified defects; provide actionable test reports and recommendations.
Create and maintain test data sets, and data for manual test execution.
Communicate and report on test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management based on key metrics at the end of testing cycles.
Assist various release activities in regards to deployments to ensure the quality of the release; support User Acceptance procedures.
Participate in quality measures reviews while defining the QA process enhancements based on industry standards and practices.
Technologies and platforms used: Java/J2EE, Selenium, SQL, WebDriver, SoapUI, Linux, Oracle, etc.
3+ years of experience in manual Software QA and Testing
Previous experience testing web-based applications
Previous experience working in Agile/SCRUM environments (sprints/scrums/user stories etc.)
Hands-on experience with writing test plans, and test scripts
Experience collaborating with developers and business experts on clarifying requirements and defining testing approaches
Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills complemented by strong interpersonal skills with a variety of individuals at all levels
Development background or basic Java programming experience and high level understanding and exposure to web application development; or knowledge and experience with a scripting language.
Performance testing experience
Automation testing experience
Familiarity with Selenium/SOAP UI or RESTful automation tools
